DESCRIPTION

The founders of Navut have all endured, on multiple occasions, the difficult moving experience. They moved to Montreal from overseas and ended up living in neighborhoods that were not suitable for their lifestyles and paid more than they should for rent and local services. They felt that they were lacking knowledge that before Navut, only locals seemed to have access to. After facing this global problem head on, our founders made it their mission to create a solution for people moving to an unfamiliar city. Everybody deserves to arrive in their new neighborhood confident that it’s the right place for them, which as everyone at Navut knows, is an invaluable asset.

Our Story The founders of Navut have all endured, on multiple occasions, the difficult moving experience. They moved to Montreal from overseas and ended up living in neighborhoods that were not suitable for their lifestyles and paid more than they should for rent and local services. They felt that they were lacking knowledge that before Navut, only locals seemed to have access to.

Each year, 4.8 million people move to and within Canada. Many of these people are in the same boat and feel unfamiliar with their new city, unprepared for the move, and stressed out about the intimidating transition. Finding the right schools for their children, homes within their budget, and the necessary amenities are all important pieces of the neighborhood puzzle.

Our founders made it their mission to create a solution for people moving to an unfamiliar place; a way for them

to have the same knowledge that locals have of the area. People need an easier way to find their ideal neighborhood, connect with a good real estate agent, and access the best service providers. Everybody deserves to arrive in their new neighborhood confident that it’s the right place for them, which as the Navut team knows, is an invaluable asset.

What We Do Navut is a unique set of online tools that breaks the mold of traditional solutions for finding a new home and choosing a neighborhood. Before Navut, we wasted too much time searching first price and property type and ended up moving to areas that don’t match our lifestyle. We reverse and simplify the process of finding a home, and other needed services, by taking into account each person’s needs and preferences and directing them to the best neighborhood.

Navut is a one-stop, easy, and unbiased source of information for anyone faced with the intimidating experience of moving to a new area.

How It Works When you ask a real estate agent what the three most important factors are for finding a home, they say location, location, location. That’s why we built the Neighborhood Finder tool. The Neighborhood Finder cross references the user’s lifestyle preferences with official city data to suggest the best neighborhoods to live in.

Using the Neighborhood Finder is a three-step process:

They may now browse the Neighborhood Profiles for the areas they are interested in. Each Neighborhood Profile displays important information in a sleek, easy to digest format. The neighborhood information includes demographics, safety, housing, schools, amenities, employment, transportation, Walkscore, and user reviews.

The user selects their destination city.

The user selects the criteria they care about and gives

each a level of importance.

Neighborhoods that match the users’ personal criteria are displayed on a Google

Map layer.

Homes matching the users’ needs are now conveniently presented on the Neighborhood Profiles. Real Estate agents and property managers can sign up, list their properties, and be featured as a Neighborhood Specialist. When users choose their neighborhood, they can browse local properties within their price range and easily connect with a featured real estate agent or property manager.

For real estate professionals, Navut is a time and money saving approach to marketing their properties and services. They gain access to people moving to their city before they arrive, giving them the opportunity to connect with a client at the earliest stage of their moving process and maximizing their chances of closing a sale. Real estate professionals are also provided with detailed user profiles with verified information, allowing them invaluable access to their client market.

the team Navut was founded by people who have relocated many times, including moving to areas they had never been before. This was how the problem of lacking important, reliable, and easy to access knowledge while moving was brought to their attention. Our team is dedicated, creative, and passionate about helping people confidently move to an area that’s right for them.

Marcos azevedo - Sales & Marketing Co-Founder

Marcos has moved a whopping 20 times in his life. He’s lived in great cities around the world, including Paris, Rio de Janeiro, and Miami. After settling in Montreal in 2009, he realized that while moving to cities with limited local knowledge seemed exciting at the time, arriving at a new place with important knowledge saves a lot of time, money, and stress. Marcos’ passion for sales and marketing began at a young age in Rio de Janeiro where swapping, selling, and negotiating were popular activities amongst his group of friends. He’s grown to love helping his customers achieve something they didn’t think was possible. His desire to succeed is naturally paired with his passion to serve and help others.

Mauro repacci - Co-founder and Ceo

Mauro is no stranger to the daunting moving process. He’s lived in six different cities within Brazil, the United States, and Canada. His biggest move was back in 2007 when he came to Montreal with just two suitcases. He arrived during a massive snowstorm and knew only one other person in the city. Without knowing enough about the city, Mauro ended up paying way too much for where he was living. After facing this problem head on, Mauro’s natural entrepreneurial spirit kicked in (he had a knack for buying kites at wholesale and reselling to his friends on the beach at age 12) and he began working on Navut. He’s highly dedicated to providing a solution for so many people facing the same problems he did when moving to a new city.

gustavo Burckhardt - Co-Founder and Cto

Gustavo has 5 major moves under his belt. His most intimidating moving experience was coming to Montreal from Brazil after doing limited research of his new surroundings. He did the best he could when making big decisions on where he would live and the services he would purchase, but knows now he would have chosen differently if given better access to information. Gustavo traces his love for creating code back to an early fascination with computers at the age of 14. He finds himself constantly inspired by the rapid growth of technology, and is always open to learning new technologies and applying them to his work.

aureabelle Cruz - design Founder

Aureabelle spent her childhood in the Philippines and moved to Montreal with her family in the 90’s. Their cross-country move was made even more intimidating after arriving with little knowledge of the local neighbourhoods. They ended up living in areas that were either too expensive or did not meet her family’s needs, and have moved within the city a few times since. Aureabelle has always had an attentive eye and passion for finding life’s natural beauty. Her creativity and resourcefulness sparked at a very young age by imaginatively thinking of ways to find purpose for the old and the unwanted. She would make book covers out of candy wrappers, kites out of old newspapers and coconut broom sticks, and bubbles out of papaya stem and flowers. Her natural aesthetic talents have grown into an impressive career in web design and development.
