INTERNAL ASSESSMENT FOR TERM I AND II

Schools would create a student profile for all assessment undertaken over the year and retain the evidences in digital format

Internal Assessment (throughout the year-irrespective of Term I and II) would include end of topic or unit tests/ exploratory activities/ practicals/ projects.

CBSE will facilitate schools to upload marks of Internal Assessment on the CBSE IT platform

Guidelines for Internal Assessment for all subjects will also be released along with the rationalized term wise divided syllabus for the session 2021-22.

The Board would also provide additional resources like sample assessments, question banks, teacher training etc. for more reliable and valid internal assessments.

Guidelines for Senior Secondary Level: For internal assessment/ practical/project work the following modalities would be adopted.

1. For subjects with Internal

Assessment/Practical of 20 marks: (Mathematics)

Term I:Periodic Test: 05 Marks Maths Activity: Activity File Record + Term End Assessment of one activity and viva: 05 Marks.Term II: Periodic Test: 05 Marks Maths Activity: Activity File Record + Term End Assessment of one activity and viva: 05 Marks

Practical work would be divided into 02 terms (as detailed in the Term-wise curriculum for the purpose of examination) Students would be undertaking the practical work of Term I and II in the respective terms

2. For Subjects with Practical of 30 marks: (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Geography, Computer Science, Physical Education)

Term I: A 15-mark Practical (as detailed in the curriculum) would be conducted under the supervision of subject teacher/

internal examiner. Or

In case the situation of lockdown continues until Nov Dec 2021, a pen and paper assessment on the basis of syllabus

for practical for the first term carrying a weightage of 15 marks would be conducted at the end of Term I at the

school level and marks would be submitted by the schools to the Board.

Term II: At the end of Term II, a 15-mark Practical would be

conducted under the joint supervision of Board appointed external and internal examiners.

OrIn case the situation of lockdown continues beyond

December 2021, a pen and paper assessment on the basis of syllabus for practical for the second term carrying a weightage of 10 marks and Viva for 5 marks would be

conducted at the end of Term II jointly by the external and internal examiners and marks would be submitted by the

schools to the Board.

Subjects with Project Work, Assessment of Listening and Speaking Skills

Subjects with Project Work of 20 marks: Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, History, Political Science:

ØThere would be only ONE project for the session. ØThe project work would be divided into two parts i.e. Term I (10 marks) and Term II (10 marks) ØDetailed guidelines for project work are stated on CBSE website and the same

has been shared by the subject teachers.

Subjects with Assessments of Listening and Speaking Skills:

Scenario I – if it is possible to conduct in person assessment Assessment of Listening and Speaking Skills (10

marks) will be done in person by internal examiner.

Scenario II – If schools remain closed Assessment of Listening

and Speaking Skills (10 marks) will be done online by internal examiner.

Assessment of Project and Viva based on the project work will be jointly done by external examiner and Internal Examiner. (10 marks) Students shall submit a project report (5 marks) and Viva voce (5 marks) shall be conducted by external examiner.

In case the situation of the pandemic improves and students are able to come to

schools or centres for taking the exams.

Board would conduct Term I and Term II examinations at schools/centres and the theory

marks will be distributed equally between the two exams.

In case the situation of the pandemic forces complete closure of schools during November-December 2021, but Term II exams are held at

schools or centres.

Term I MCQ based examination would be done by students online/offline from home - in this case, the weightage of this exam for the final score would be

reduced, and weightage of Term II exams will be increased for declaration of final result.

SITUATION 3

In case the situation of the pandemic forces complete closure of schools during March-April 2022, but Term I exams are held at schools or

centres.

Results would be based on the performance of students on Term I MCQ based examination and internal assessments. The weightage of marks of Term I

examination conducted by the Board will be increased to provide year end results of candidates.

SITUATION 4

In case the situation of the pandemic forces complete closure of schools and Board

conducted Term I and II exams are taken by the candidates from home in the session 2021-22.

Results would be computed on the basis of the Internal Assessment/Practical/Project Work and Theory marks of Term-I and II exams taken by the candidate from home in Class X / XII subject to the moderation or other measures

to ensure validity and reliability of the assessment.

In all the above cases, data analysis of marks of students will be undertaken to ensure the integrity of internal assessments and home based exams.

DIGITAL PORTFOLIO FOR STUDENTSA digital folder/portfolio has the same purpose as a physical folder –to store documents.ØGoogle drive link for a folder is shared with every student by their

respective class teachers.

ØEvery student has got a unique link.

ØLink should not be shared with any one.

ØStudents are supposed to create subfolders for different subjects.

ØThey will upload the corrected answer scripts, tests etc in the

subject folders with proper labels.
