CharitaBulls donated $4.5 mil-lion to construct the 40,000-square-foot facility, and con-tinues to provide financial support for the club’s programsas well as complimentary game tickets for the childrenwho frequent the club.

Recently, CharitaBulls donated $600,000 to assist withbuilding and operational expenses, and provide new educa-tional and social programming.

CHICAGO BULLS COLLEGE PREPIn 2008, we donated $2 million to create a high school campusthat delivers an educational model focused on four core values: scholarship, honor, discipline and fitness.

In September 2009, we officially unveiled Chicago Bulls CollegePrep (CBCP), a Noble Street Charter School located near theUnited Center that is dedicated to providing world-class education for all Chicago students.

At a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included Chairman JerryReinsdorf and other Bulls personalities, we welcomed theinaugural 229 CBCP high school freshmen and expressed oursupport and encouragement for the upcoming school year.

In addition to offering a rigorous college preparatory curricu-lum, CBCP requires students to take two 40-minute physicaleducation classes every day. This is a first for Noble campusesand enforces CBCP’s emphasis on health, fitness and wellness.

Chicago Bulls College Prep will serve approximately 1,000Chicago students in grades 9–12 when it reaches full capacityduring the 2012–2013 school year.

By providing a local facilitywith a quiet, well-equipped area for reading, we offer educa-tional resources to young students. The centers are renovatedwith new paint, shelving, carpeting, lighting, reading andresearch materials, computers, furniture and other supplies. The most recent reading and learning center was establishedat Paul Robeson High School in the Englewood community.

ADOPT-A-SCHOOL To promote the importance of education and our commitmentto Chicagoland’s youth, we partner with Harris Bank to providelocal schools with the opportunity to be a member of the Bullsand Harris Adopt-A-School Program. The school chosen to par-ticipate in the Adopt-A-School Program receives schoolappearances by Bulls personalities, as well as 25 tickets to 10home games. The 2009-10 Adopt-A-School was GoudyElementary School.

BULLS PARTNER SCHOOLSIt is our privilege to share a special relationship with two of ourneighborhood schools through the Bulls Partner School pro-gram. William H. Brown and Victor Herbert Elementary Schools, located near the United Center, receive player appearances, ticket donations, autographed items, arena tours and sou-venirs. We work daily with the faculty at these institutions, offering our assets to encourage students to excel at theirstudies and maintain superior attendance records. We alsohave opened new reading and learning centers at both schools.

CHICAGO’S MVPS In honor of Black History Month, we team up with Sprite andChicago Public Schools to celebrate the academic achieve-ments of top African American male students in local publichigh schools through the Sprite Chicago’s MVPs Program.

Students apply online and are judged based on their academicaccomplishments, community service and an essay. Studentschosen as the 2009-10 Chicago’s MVPs were honored at arecognition ceremony hosted by Derrick Rose and Taj Gibson.
