University Honors and Scholars Programs

Students who participate in these programs receive an

educational experience enhanced by political, scientific

and artistic opportunities. Both programs focus on

academics, research and cultural enrichment. Although

select incoming freshmen are invited to join these

programs, all students may apply.

ARTS NC STATE

Whether you prefer the spotlight or a front-row seat,

ARTS NC STATE offers an array of visual and performing

arts opportunities. ARTS NC STATE encompasses six

programs aimed at exposing students and the community

to diverse artistic expression. From the leaps and twirls of

the Dance Program to jewelry design and pottery classes

at the Crafts Center; from rousing performances by the

Music Department, Center Stage and University Theater

to the wonders on display at the Gregg Museum of Art

GET AROUND

Wolfline, NC State’s bus service, is the quickest and

easiest way for students to travel around campus. The

signature red and white buses operate every day classes

are in session to serve Main Campus, Centennial Campus,

Centennial Biomedical Campus and privately owned

apartment complexes located nearby on the Wolfline route.

Main Campus

Consisting of North, Central

and South campuses, this is

Centennial Campus

This public-private research park

houses more than 70 NC State 

research and academic units, along

with more than 60 corporate,

government and nonprofit partners.

Centennial is also home to the

award-winning Hunt Library, one of

the most technologically advanced

learning and collaboration spaces in

the world.

Centennial Biomedical Campus

This extension of the Centennial

Campus concept is anchored by

the College of Veterinary Medicine,

the third-ranked veterinary medical

school in the nation. Here, NC State

students work alongside industry

and government researchers to

study animal and human biomedical

applications.

Carter-Finley Stadium

Carter-Finley Stadium has been home to NC State football

games since it was built in 1966. The stadium and its 

surrounding acres of open fields invite a multitude of

pregame student and alum tailgaters.

PNC Arena

Just a short walk from Carter-Finley’s north end zone, the

PNC Arena’s 19,700 red seats, wide concourses and state-

of-the-art HD scoreboard provide a premier home for NC

State men’s basketball games. From their courtside priority

seating, students won’t miss a minute of the action.

Reynolds Coliseum

NC State women’s basketball, women’s gymnastics,

women’s volleyball and wrestling teams all compete in the

university’s legendary William Neal Reynolds Coliseum.

Since the coliseum witnessed the men’s basketball team’s

first victory in 1949, Reynolds has provided a home-court 

advantage for its athletes.

Freshman Admission

Last year, more than 20,000 students applied for 4,250 

spaces in the freshman class. NC State’s competitive

admissions process looks at the whole student,

including grades, rigor of coursework, class rank, test

scores and high school and community involvement.

Transfer Admission

NC State welcomes applicants who began their

college work at another university or a college. About

20 percent of our current students studied elsewhere

before making NC State their home. This past year

we received more than 3,500 applications for a class 

of 1,300. Transfer students need a minimum of 30 

transferable credit hours and a competitive grade-point

average. There are additional requirements stated on

our website.

International Admission

NC State values the different perspectives and ideas
