A chance to hear music composed by the finalists of the NCEM Instrumental Composers Award 2011presented in association with BBC Radio 3 and Fretwork.
This National Award has attracted a tremendous amount of interest and is now in its 3rd year. Theshortlisted finalists will have the opportunity to work with composer Christopher Fox and Fretwork toprepare their pieces in preparation for this public performance. The winners will be announced on the nightand their pieces will then be premiered by Fretwork on Wednesday 21 December at Kings Place, London.This concert will be recorded for broadcast on Radio 3’s Early Music Show.

The musical partnership of John Parricelli and HuwWarren stretches over 20 years. Both highlyregarded composers, their music reflects their loveof jazz, folk and classical. Their sound ranges fromacoustic to a more textural approach, subtlyutilizing electronics to expand their compositions.John, one of the co-founders of Loose Tubes, hasworked with Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, NormaWinstone, Charlie Haden and Andy Sheppard toname a few.
