Introducing:NCTE Connects

logging in

Go to http://connects.ncte.org.

Log in using the same credentials you currently use for your NCTE account

(i.e., the same ones you use to log into the Connected Community).

This is the home page and main area of conversation in NCTE Connects. It’s the

equivalent of the Teaching and Learning Forum.

This is the first place you will see each time you log in.

You can also interact with other members’ posts here. You can like

posts and leave comments.

Create a new group.

NCTE Connects has the same Groups feature as Connected Community. If you were a member of NCTE committees

outside of the Teaching and Learning Forum on the Connected Community, you may find some of those

groups here. Any member is welcome to create a group.

Each group has a set-up similar to the main discussion area on the home page. Within groups, you can post

messages, share resources, and connect with other members.

Add a resource here or in a post.

All resources that have been shared in posts on the main forum and groups you are a member of will be available

here. When uploading resources, it helps to give a meaningful name and

description so they are easily searchable.

Members can create and RSVP for events.

Find and connect with other members.

View a member’s

profile.

Add a member as a connection.

In addition to searching by name, you can also use advanced search to search by

location, title, and more.

The Settings tab allows you to change your email preferences, view your

profile, log a support ticket, and more.

Email digests are still available. Daily emails are the default; however, you can change this to receive updates daily, weekly, monthly, or not at all.

You can also decide if you’d like to be emailed when someone comments on a

post, adds you as a connection, and more.

Click your name or photo

Your profile can be accessed in two places:Settings

Click here to edit your photo, title, locale, contact information, and

more.

Your notifications will show you who has recently commented on your post, who has added you as a connection, and more. You will also receive this

information in each email digest, and have the option to receive individual

emails about notifications.

Start a new message. Type the

name(s) of the members you would

like to message.

Revisit previous messages.

NCTE Connects supports one-to-one and one-to-many direct messages.
