NCW Knitters Guild Newsletter May 2015
Business Meeting May 5, 2015
Presiding: Victoria Bosche, President. Meeting called to order at 6:15 pm., 35 in attendance.
Guests welcomed by Victoria—5 guests this evening.
Treasurer report: $10 in new member dues received for April. April minutes approved. Minutes (in the newsletter) are emailed or mailed to members.
Vic thanked Kimberlee Craig and Sherry Anderson for providing snacks for tonight’s meeting. If you’re
bringing snacks, please also bring napkins and plates. The Eagles provide beverages.
RECIPE FOR ICE CREAM DESSERT: 12 ounce frozen pink lemonade concentrate and 1/2 gallon
vanilla ice cream. Combine half of each in food processor, mix, put in 9 x 13 glass dish, repeat. Freeze.
Enjoy!
Thirteen members turned out for the Shadow Ridge Alpacas field trip. It was a very enjoyable event.
We are looking for candidates for next year's Board, terms begin in August. Contact Victoria Bosche

The Eagles club encourages us to purchase dinners/drinks there as part of our using the meeting room.
Please come early and have dinner! Salad bar and a baked potato only $6, or order the daily special.
Membership: Forms to join guild are available at monthly meetings, $10 for annual dues. Past news-
letters are now available to view on guild website ncwknittersguild.com, You can also view a listing of
books in the guild library—look for the link on the home page. Library is housed at Sue Enright’s.
Knitters guild has groups on Facebook and Ravelry. Check out these resources!
Current Projects & Committee Reports Upcoming Programs: Next meeting on June 1st, 6:00 pm at the Eagles. We will be making catnip
balls and cat blankets to donate to the humane society. Patterns and info will be emailed to members.
July meeting will once again be our annual Stitch and Pitch event at the Apple Sox baseball game on
Tuesday, July 7th. The tickets will most likely cost $6 each and can be picked up at our June meeting or
arrangements will be made for a pick up before the game. Contact Victoria Bosche at 206-390-0033 or

Workshops/Events:
Afghan Sampler—Date for assembly planning is set for Tuesday, May 19th. Victoria will email
participants with more details.
Vale Elementary in Cashmere—teach kids to knit. Gayle Holeton is leading and asked for
assistants on Tuesdays from 11:20 to 12:25. You must sign in at front office at school. Questions?

SHOP TALK:
K1P2 Yarn—Lots of new yarn to arrive soon! New pattern for felted flip flops for summer. Classes for
Arches Cowl, Gloves, Inflight Scarf. Visit the website for upcoming classes at k1p2yarn.com, or the shop
at 1012 Springwater Street in Wenatchee. Shop hours Tues-Sat, 11:00-5:00, Thurs 11:00-7:00. Knit-ins
on Thursday!
Cashmere Cottage Yarn—New arrivals: Peace Fleece yarns and buttons. Knit sweaters, hats, and other
clothing for stuffed bears to be given to kids at Camp Erin; donations of bears also welcomed. CCY offers
15% off yarns for your charity knitting. Call 509-782-0382 for more info or to register for classes. Knit at
the shop on Wed 1:00-3:00 or 5:00-8:00, Thurs 1:00-3:00.
MAC’s Studio—Studio is located at 130 Riverview Road, East Wenatchee, west of highway 28 past

Twisted Fine Yarn and Wool—Grand opening May 15th and 16th, 10:00 a.m.—5:00 p.m. each day.

Tips/Tech/Tools/Misc: Lazy susan type spindles are wonderful!
Program: Knitting goods swap. Yarn, notions, magazines, and books were brought by members to pass
along, and numbers were drawn to take turns choosing ‘new’ goodies to take home.
