Message from the Organizing ChairmanDear friends and family, it is a great feeling to be hosting a joint meeting of the 16th Asia Pacific Conference on Diabetic Limb Problems and the 2nd Global Wound Conference 2019. This year's momentous conference brings together Professors, Consultants, Specialist and colleagues from various countries and disciplines to share their expertise and knowledge in managing complex wounds. The theme this year is 'Step by Step Mission Accomplished'. This is to illustrate the fact that we have to manage the morbidity in a step by step fashion until the mission is accomplished. Our mission as medical professionals is to alleviate the suffering of our patients and the family members in a conducive environment and heal the wounds with minimal or no complications with passion.

This year the emphasis will be on diabetic limb problems as Diabetes Mellitus has become a huge problem and the foot attack is a major complication with one patient losing their limb every 20 seconds. We will be enlightened on the current status of the disease burden in the Asia Pacific region and the various strategies to combat this condition.

Meanwhile, the global conference 2019 continues with the holistic and comprehensive management of the various chronic complex wounds which include the diabetic foot ulcer, pressure injury, venous and arterial ulcers , stoma, reconstructive surgery and other advanced modalities in a global perspective. We have to keep ourselves updated with the latest technology, management and modalities so that our clients who are our patients will benefit from this.

Therefore, we need to manage them well so please do learn and share as much as you can as everyone has a wealth of knowledge from all over the world .

I would like to thank the organising committee, the members of the MSWCP and the Asia Pacific Association of Diabetic Limb Problems, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, speakers, delegates, the industry and all for their continuous support.

Thank you. God bless you.

Prof. Dr. Harikrishna K.R.Nair S.I.S KMNChairman of the Organising CommitteePresident Elect of the Asia Pacific Association of Diabetic Limb ProblemsPresident of the Malaysian Society of Wound Care Professionals (MSWCP)
