YOUR VOTE IS NEEDED to show both the Mayor and City Council that our neighborhood wants improvements on Federal Boulevard.
Denver Public Library Denver’s Flagship Central Library (13th & Broadway) has been in the news recently. Exposes have uncov-ered fights, assaults and drug use in and around the library. Library staff balance
the ability to provide resources to those who want to improve their education and skills to find job and police those who use it for illicit activities. Renee Fewell, Central Library Administrator will address this
pressing topic along with the tremendous amenities the library offers. Everything from technology classes, recording studios, starting a non-profit and 3D printing will be discussed.
Bike Lane Extensions on 23rd Ave. Brittany Price from Public Works Transportation & Mobility Department will present a design draft of a striping proj-ect that extends the bike lane from Grove to Eliot on 23rd Avenue.
JPUN GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
Please join us June 13, for our next JPUN General Membership Meeting. Hot topics for discussion are listed below. All are welcome.
Vote on more Businesses on Federal! After recent rezoning and remodeling of commercial space at 25th and Eliot, residents now have a chance to support a streetscape and pedes-trian mobility project tied in with the 2017 Denver GO Bond. Improving pedestri-an access to our business district will increase the sustainability of those businesses and encourage commercial improvements along Federal.
Marshall Vanderburg, President of Federal Boulevard Partnership, will present schematic designs of what Federal Boulevard could become in the near future.

MUSIC@JEFFERSON PARK
SUNDAY, JUNE 25, 5:00-8:00 PMJoin friends, family, and neighbors for the 6th annual free summer concert series, Music@Jefferson Park!
Opening our 2017 series is North Denver’s very own The Highland Ramblers, voted Top 5 Best Bluegrass Bands in Colorado by Westword Magazine. Their acclaimed sound blends elements of bluegrass, Americana and roots for a very unique performance.
Bring a picnic basket or grab food from local restaurants Sartos, Sexy Pizza and Little Man Ice Cream.
3 QUICK QUESTIONS WITH ANDY CARLSON, GUITAR PLAYER
AND FOUNDING MEMBER OF HIGHLAND RAMBLERS
Does your band name coincide with a certain Denver location? ANDY: The band donned the name “Highland Ramblers” over 8 years ago when we started a weekly jam in a Highland’s basement. We had a list of probably 60 names, but we couldn’t come up with anything more appropriate.
How many of the band still reside in the area? ANDY: Out of the 5 band members, just 3, and they all live in Berkley.
How did you like playing Music@JP the first time (2015)? ANDY: It was a highlight of our summer. Finishing the show off stage acoustic in the middle of the park surrounded by neigh-bors and friends all together singing “I’ll Fly Away.” I may have had a tear in my eye.

STREET PARKING “A” PERMITSCars parked on streets in Jefferson Park are required to have an “A” sticker during designated stadium events. Without this sticker, your vehicle will be subject to a ticket or tow.
You can apply for a free permit in person at the Parking Cashier Office (201 W. Colfax Ave., Dept. 110, Denver, CO 80202) or online at www.denvergov.org/content/denvergov/en/home-page/permits.html. You will need to show utility bills, valid driver’s license and vehicle registration to apply.
The weather cooperated once again for JPUN’s 15th annual Clean Up Day. Many friendly neighbors joined us at the park, a sunny Saturday morning spent gathering for coffee and breakfast burritos to plan routes with fellow neighbors, then spreading into cleanup teams to tackle the trash. Loaded with tools provided by JPUN, the teams spread through Jeff Park to pick up around the neighborhood, followed by a lunch hosted by Sarto’s. The kids at the event enjoyed face painting and a piñata, and all of the neighbors had the opportunity to gather and enjoy the afternoon and strengthen our community ties.
Special thanks to all of our sponsors and supporters, particularly 2785 Speer for their long term support of this event and our neighborhood.
SPONSORS/DONATIONS:

BUSINESS
BIZ ON THE BOULEVARD
BY DOUG YETMANwww.bizontheblvd.com
The 2017 Jefferson Park Farm & Flea season kicked off on May 20th with the biggest market in their history. Close to eighty vendors took to 25th Ave and Eliot street selling seedlings, early Colorado grown produce, hand-crafted food, along with artisan goods like jewelry, dog-treats, and art. Urban homesteading was a big part of the market with baby goats and chickens on site as well as free giveaways of compost and hops rhizomes!
Be sure to attend the July 15th market, with amazing vendors, food trucks and great urban homesteading including information about keeping bees, planting a pollinator garden and harvesting rainwater!
For information about how to participate, contact Doug at [email protected]
