We invite you to read through our first edition of What’s the Catch, Survivor SAKE’s new monthly update from your captains, which will provide you with valuable dragon boat information for the team’s 2019 season. We will attempt to provide everything you will need to know for the season in this monthly bulletin: announcements, accomplishments, updates, policies, meeting and social events, and, of course, what many of you have been waiting for, our 2019 race schedule. So, please read on to enter all things Survivor SAKE. MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS 2019 Club SAKE Membership: Please renew your Club SAKE membership now if you plan to paddle in 2019. This is a calendar year membership and is required to continue paddling and to secure your qualification for Nationals. The renewal includes the annual SAKE waiver and ethics policy. If you haven’t done so, please take the time now to renew at Club SAKE (https://www.webscorer.com/registerseries?seriesid=163917). Remember to select TSNW/Survivor SAKE team membership to get the $75 rate and please pay online. 2019 TSNW Membership: Please renew your TSNW membership by clicking the link here or go to the online form at: https://form.jotform.com/90266599463167. Remember, if you renew by the end of February, you will be entered into a drawing to win a $300 NorthFace gift card! We ask that all Survivor SAKE members who are available please attend the Club’s annual meeting, which may replace practice that day. Additional details will follow soon. ATTENDANCE:Pleasekeepinmindthatthe10-personboatsarecurrentlybeingrepaired(signuptohelpviaClubSAKE’sschedule)anditisveryimportantthatyouRSVPonTeamCowboyatleast2daysinadvanceifyouintendtojoinpractice.Yourcaptains,coachesandtillersworkveryhardmonitoringconditionsandpotentialattendanceforeachpracticesowecandeterminewhetherpracticecangoforward.PleasebemindfulofthesecontributionsandRSVPinadvance,andonlyRSVPifyouarecommittedtoattend.Last-minutecancellationscouldaffecttheentireteambeingabletoconductpracticeatall,sopleasedonotcancelatthelastminuteunlessthereisanemergencyorunforeseencircumstances.Weappreciateyourcommitmenttotheteamandrespectingthispolicy.

CANCELLATIONPOLICY:OurpracticesareoftenatthemercyofMotherNatureduringwinterandspring,andwemusthaveaminimumnumberofexperienced,uninjuredpaddlerspresenttoconductpractice.Duetothesefactors,wearesendingthisreminderofSurvivorSAKE’syear-roundpracticecancellationpolicy.Allpracticecancellationswillbedecideduponasagroupeffortbytillers,coaches,captainsandsafetyofficers.Ifwearefacedwithpredictionsofunsafeweatherduetohazardouswind&waterconditionsandtheconsensusistocancelapractice,ORifthereisaninsufficientnumberofpaddlerswhohaveRSVP’dforpractice,youwillreceiveanemailfromyourcaptainsand/orfromTeamCowboyby7:00pmontheFridaybeforeaSaturdaypractice,andby3:00pmonTuesdayforourTuesdayeveningpractices.However,pleasebeawarethat,attimes,wemayencounterunforeseenhazardousconditions,andbeforcedtocancelpracticeon-siteorshortlybeforeapracticeisscheduledtobegin.Restassuredthatthesafetyoftheteamisourtoppriorityandwewillmakeinformeddecisionswhencancellationsareinevitable.WearerelyingonyoutoberesponsibleforcheckingTeamCowboyandyouremailin-boxifyouhaveanydoubtsbeforeleavingforpractice.

TUESDAY PRACTICES

Please mark your calendars that we will resume Tuesday

evening practices on Tuesday, March 12, 2019,

after daylight savings. These practices begin at 6 pm and run until 8 pm.

We are excited to have our Assistant Coach, Lisa Harkins, lead Tuesday

practices.
