In the interests of keeping the team and clients safe we have taken the decision to suspend Work Club sessions until notified by the Department of Health that normal services can be resumed. Please be informed that we will not be taking any appointments until notified. We have however agreed to work remotely wherever possible to assist our clients as we have a duty of care to each other and to our clients in order to stay as healthy as possible. COMMITTEE MEMBERS - DEMENTIA FRIENDLY ILKLEY
The Ilkley group for dementia awareness and support needs more committee members to help
spread the load and energise the work it does in the Ilkley area.
There is a monthly support meeting, and present members need extra hands to develop
initiatives to promote dementia awareness. The Ilkley group has a few dementia awareness
trainers who offer monthly sessions but the committee would like to do more publicity at events,
etc. The time commitment can be as short as one hour a month or as long as individuals wish.

SHOP ASSIST AND BEFRIENDING SCHEMES
Could you spend an hour or two every week helping an older person? The ShopAssist and
Befriending schemes (part of Ilkley and District Good Neighbours) need more volunteers and will
pay expenses. Our schemes enable older people to remain independent for longer and give
volunteers the opportunity to meet new people, build rewarding friendships and give something

We are looking for volunteers in your area 'as & when' to help us raise money & increase
awareness of local Sue Ryder services. You can get involved in many different activities; from
collections in supermarkets; placing posters in local shops; to cheering people on at events.

VOLUNTEERS - UPCROFT ALPACAS, GUISELEY
Volunteers aged over 16 required. Must be fit as it can be quite heavy work. Must also be reliable
and willing to turn up in all weathers.
Main tasks: catching and putting head collars and lead ropes on alpacas, assisting with alpaca
walks with paying customers, training alpacas to negotiate obstacle course, filling water and hay
buckets, paddock cleaning. Can volunteer anything between 1 day and 8 days per month on a
regular basis.

Dan's Dan at Christchurch is a not-for-profit community soft play centre. We are only a success
because of our awesome volunteer squad which we are always looking to grow. As well as
regular customer facing volunteers we are looking for someone to support smaller sensory

Could you spare 2 hours a week to support a local family? Home Start Craven supports families,
with at least one child under the age of five, to help get them back on their feet and/or through
difficult times. Typically, our volunteers may provide emotional support, such as a listening ear as
well as practical support such as helping to establish structure/routines as well as helping build

HELPER VOLUNTEERS - MARIE CURIE HELPER SERVICE
The Helper Service is a great local service providing support to people living with a terminal
illness and their families and carers. We are looking for volunteers and are interested to hear
from people with the compassion and empathy to support individuals for a few hours per week.
We know that the little things can make a difference, like having someone to chat to over a cup of
tea, help get to an appointment, run an errand or just be a friendly ear. To find out more about

Beanstalk are a national charity who recruit, train and support volunteers to provide one-to-one
literacy support to primary school children. Our volunteers work in schools for 1-1/2 hours twice a
week (afternoons during term time) and we ask for a minimum one year commitment. We are

Christchurch Cafe has been established for over 30 years providing a caring environment,
outreach to customers and volunteers alike and simple but tasty food. We are looking for

We are looking for volunteers to help in our Barnardo’s Charity Shop in The Moors Centre (in the

ILKLEY COMMUNITY TRANSPORT
Would you like to help your local community and join the friendly team at Ilkley Community
Transport? We are a registered charity based in Ilkley and are always looking for CAR DRIVERS
to provide lifts primarily to medical appointments for residents in the Ilkley and Addingham area
who find public transport difficult to access due to age, illness or disability. Volunteers use their
own cars and claim expenses for fuel at a pre-agreed rate. Drivers must be over 21, and have
held a full licence for at least 2 years.
