Please be aware that there has been a increase of incidents of solicitation in our Neely Farm neighborhood. The indi-viduals are ringing door bells and trying to sell services and products.

Neighborhood Watch News — Solicitation on the Rise If any neighbor can obtain a license plate number from the car or the name of the individual, we can report this to the police. SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY!

Neely Farm Safety Committee reminds all neighbors not to answer their door for anyone that they do not know! Neely Farm has posted at the entrance a sign that clearly states: "NO SOLICI-TATION!"

Happy summer all!

Your Neely Farm social committee is in need of additional volunteers! We are reaching out to old and new neigh-bors alike. It's a fun group and entails events throughout the year for families and also for adults only. Each event has a chair from among the social committee members and other members help as needed. Some events have co-chairs. Everyone has a chance to help out. I'd also love a committee co-chair, so on those odd occasions when I'm out of town and miss an event, there's someone to carry out the needed tasks. No experience required! Come join us! Support our vibrant Neely Farm community and have loads of fun doing it!

Please reply to Heather at either [email protected] or 678-327-8835. We look forward to welcoming you to our merry little band.

The Tennis Committee has new volunteer chair people! Brian and Kay Vogler have stepped up to be ccommittee co-chairs. They will be sending out reminders in the newsletter in future months about court rules, home match clean-up, and court assignments for both team practices and home matches.

Kay can be reached at [email protected]. Thank you, Kay and Brian, for step-ping up and giving your time to help insure our neighborhood tennis stays on track. We appreciate your volun-teerism!

CURRENT USTA CAPTAINS - please let Kay or Brian know who you are, which team you are captain of, and the dates of your home matches. The courts need to be blocked off on these dates to insure availability. A heads up to FALL ALTA CAPTAINS - please do the same when the season begins. There will be a reminder in the newsletter at that time.

A Flash from the Past

In the 1940s, workmen check conditions in the dairy barn of Neely Farm, located in what's now the City of Peachtree Cor-ners at the Chattahoochee Riv-er. If you haven't heard Neely resident and CF victim, Andy Lipman, sing yet, here's your chance... he's had a lot of fun writing the lyrics, which are heart felt and important for helping people understand the overwhelming implications of living with cystic fibro-sis. Please read his message below and enjoy the song by clicking the "I Need a Nebulizer" link.... video coming soon.

I Need A Nebulizer

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disorder that far too many people know too little about. In the United States alone, 1 in 29 people, roughly 10 million individuals, carry the CF gene. The median life expectancy for cyst-ic fibrosis patients sadly hovers around 37 years. Cystic fibrosis affects the lungs, digestive system and even the reproductive system. Many patients use a therapy vest and neb-ulizer to help them breathe. Some describe the feeling of having cystic fibrosis as one of breathing through a narrow every moment of their lives. CF patients often take 30 to 40 pills a day to assist with pancreatic sufficiency. Only 2% of CF males can have children without the use of fertility. While the song I've written is a parody, CF is no laughing matter. The video should be available in late June and will include pic-tures of people around the globe who battle this disease. I feel responsible for getting this video in front of as many people as possible so we can raise even more money to find a cure for CF. I am not only the writer and singer of this song. I am also a patient. I've also lost a sibling to CF. The battle against cystic fibrosis is not an easy one but all of us involved refuse to give up. I along with the 70,000 other people affected by this disease world-wide will continue to make CF stand for Can Fight!

Please pass this song on to anyone who wants to help our anti-nebulizer campaign take off and to finally destroy cystic fibrosis. With much appreciation for Billy Joel's brilliant music, I present the world premiere of I Need a Nebulizer, a parody of We Didn’t Start the Fire. Thank you for your time. Andy Lipman… I have cystic fibrosis but it will never have me.
