The ideas listed in this document are intended to inspire you to come up with your own ideas and give
you a rough idea of how much things cost. You are encouraged to use your creativity and the
expertise you have in your neighbourhood to come up with new and different ideas.
Keep in mind that all ideas submitted to the Neighbourhood Decision Making Program must comply
with existing City of London plans, policies and regulations. Following the list of ideas are links to City
of London reports and plans that may be of interest.

$7,500 The LTC has a review process for new bus shelters, which would apply to your proposal.

ART & CULTURE IDEAS
Artistic Bike Rack

Is the surface dry?
Is it on public or private property?
The City of London will need to approve the artwork.
Will you give the artist direction or let them do what they want?

Art on Utility Boxes
$500 - $1,000 per box
How will you connect with the artists?
How many boxes do you want to paint?
Will the artist be from the neighbourhood?
Will the artist be given a theme or direction?
Lamp Post Banners
$7,000 (for 10 flags)

Community Info Board

If on public property, insurance for the sign will be required.
The signs will have to follow all applicable by laws.
Who will maintain the signs?
Outdoor Movie Screen
$10,000 Where will you store the movie screen?
Do you know which movie screen you want to purchase?
Who will own the movie screen? (must be non-profit)
Where will you show movies?
You will need to purchase a license to publicly screen movies, these cost approximately $250 per screening.
HEALTHY LIVING IDEAS
Community Garden
$10,000 Community gardens need at least 10 interested gardeners to start.
Some restrictions will apply to the park and location so best to be flexible.
Costs include fencing, water hook up, path paving.
Tennis Court Backboard
$2,000 Do you know that others in your neighbourhood want to use a backboard?
