1 . Introduction to Neptune Fenders Application & Type
Neptune Fender supply various types of rubber fenders in different sizes for ports and quays,
depending on the quay and dimensions of the ships that moor. For smaller ports, these are often rubber D-fenders. Cylindrical fenders are produced in dimensions from Ø100 to Ø2000mm, depending on the quay. Arch and Leg fenders are other types of quay fenders. They both have a simple and very strong construction and have been providing a guaranteed and reliable protection for various quays for a long time. Thanks to our experience in port and quay fenders, we can provide you with tailor -made advice about each type of fender.
Many different fender types and sizes are available on the market. Choosing the suitable fender type and size should only be done together with an experienced fender manufacturer. The list of suitable fender units based on the calculated energy is long, but typically there are only a few types and combinations that would work properly for your specific project.
Marine rubber fenders and fender systems are available in different types, sizes, for different vessels and quay structures, like for example Cone Fenders, Arch Fender, Cell Fenders or Cylindrical Fenders.
Foam Fenders are suitable for various applications with the focus on projects with high variations in water levels and for cruise terminals.
Other rubber fender solutions are: Pneumatic Floating Fenders, Corner Fenders, Extruded /Molded Fenders and Tugboat Fenders.
If you have any questions or need advice, do not hesitate to contact our sales team.
Pneumatic Fender Applications
• In ports with extreme
tidal variations
•Ship-to-ship lightering operations
•Oil & Gas (typically FSRU)• Temporary berthing
Pneumatic fenders are
chains or guy ropes.
Pneumatic Fender TypesC H A I N & T I R E N E T & S L I N G T Y P E F E N DE R
Seaports commonly use fixed rubber fender systems or floating fenders. While most large seagoing vessels do not use fenders when mooring in the port, one possible exception is when a bunker ship comes alongside the vessel or when tankers berth alongside each other at sea to take on loads. In these situations, pneumatic fenders are frequently used.A floating pneumatic fender is like a cylindrical airbag with hemispherical heads at both ends. The body consists of several layers of vulcanized rubber filled with compressed air, which allows the fender to float on water. Due to these special features, pneumatic fenders are commonly used by the off shore and dredging industries to protect ships, platforms and workboats, and as spacers between the ship and the quay in ports. The performance of pneumatic rubber fenders is determined by its energy absorption and reaction force. Built for full Compliance as per ISO 17357-1:2014N e p t u n e F e n d e r offers two standard type of pneumatic fenders:Standard colors are black and grey (Navy), other colors available upon request.• Pneumatic fender with tire net• Pneumatic fender sling-type (without tire net)
