NetAccess and CareStream PACS each require a different version of Java to function properly. Because of the conflict select yes to the prompt to start a new Java session.

The CareStream URL containing the user logon, password, patient account, selected study accession number, and other parameters is passed from Net Access to CareStream when the View Icon is selected. The clinician is seamlessly logged onto CareStream. The selected image, report, and order information as well as the Patient Mini Archive containing images, reports, and order info from 5/15/07 forward can be viewed.

The Result Report will open in a new browser window. It is very important to teach users to exit this window by selecting File/Close or the X. If the user minimizes the window it will remain open (even after the user logs off of NetAccess).

If the user selects the X in the Carestream window when attempting to close the report they will be logged out of CareStream but the report will remain open.

The Order information will open in a new browser window. It is very important to teach users to exit this window by selecting File/Close or the X. If the user minimizes the window it will remain open (even after the user logs off of NetAccess).

If the user selects the X in the Carestream window when attempting to close the report they will be logged out of CareStream but the report will remain open.

For confidentiality reasons the user should never print or save the report to file or disk.

Note that the Order display window was not closed properly. The Order window was minimized. Therefore three browser windows are open in the task bar. A window for NetAccess, CareStream, and the Order are open.

When the user returns to NetAccess from CareStream PACS the Java Plug-in error is displayed in the data well due to the existing browser conflict.

Note that if the user minimized the CareStream window and did not exit properly the window for CareStream remains open. In this example the user also minimized the order display resulting in three open browser windows in the task bar.

If the user attempts to view another image for the same patient or different patient from NetAccess and did not properly close the previous CareStream session the above message will appear. Select okay and the message box will close.

Some Radiology Procedures will not have images associated with them. Special Procedures, Sagital Corneal Reconstructive Procedures, and Fluoroscopy procedures are frequently combined with a primary report. The result report and image are associated with primary report noted in the result text. The user will see the text box above when this occurs. Inform the user to select ok and then read the report on NetAccess to determine the primary report and image.
