Deep in the heart o New Mexicos ancient peaks o the

Southern Rocky Mountains, you will discover a timeless land

lled with the richness o natures most beautiul creations. This

is a land where days end and adventures begin.

This is the Mescalero Apache Reservation, home o Mescalero

Big Game Hunts. Within the connes o this sub-alpine and

valley terrain, hunters experience the pride o hunting some o

the nest bull elk, cow elk, bear and wild Merriam Turkey in

North America.

This distinction comes as a direct result o the Tribes

commitment to build strong and healthy herds ater they

reintroduced 162 Rocky Mountain Elk to the region during the

late 1960s. The native Merriam Elk were tragically driven to

extinction during the early 1900s.

Today, however, the Tribes current elk herd numbers over

4,200 head with 72% o the cows giving birth each year,

ensuring the herds and the hunts will continue to be successul

or years to come.

applicants may apply on one application. I one o the applicants is drawn, all applicants

on the application will be accepted or the hunt or which they applied.

The rst applicant on the application will be notied via mail i the party is drawn and

reunded or the party i they are not drawn. It is the rst applicants responsibility to

reund the party. A $10.00 non-reundable application ee per applicant will apply.

Please submit one (1) money order or cashiers check in the amount to cover permit

ees with application. No personal checks will be accepted.

idesGuides are not required or Regular Hunts, but are recommended to hunt on the

Reservation, which is 460,000 acres. Guides are available i needed. Only enrolled

Tribal member guides are allowed to bait on the Mescalero Apache Reservation. No

complimentary licenses will be issued to anyone without approval o the Mescalero

All hunters are required to report all harvest inormation or management purposes within

ve days o each hunt.
