The New Haven Association

of Insurance Women

Greeting Members and Friends,

Welcome back to another year of NHAIW. I hope everyone enjoyed there summer, even though

summer was late in arriving. I can’t believe that I’m sitting here at my computer writing my first

President’s Message.

I have one (1) question to ask have you all renewed your NHAIW membership, which was due on

7/1/2009 but you had until the end of business day on 8/31/2009? You should have received

reminder confirmations from National? If you didn’t renew your membership by 8/31/2009, and

you still wish to renew, please contact Betty Martin or myself.

As I begin my first term as your President, I am thinking of how we can bring our association to the

next level. I will welcome your ideas and suggestions. NHAIW is comprised of both seasoned &

new members and each of you has something that is special & unique to our association. PLEASE

GET INVOLVED! Like I said in my acceptance speech I can’t do this without every single one of

you.

We are still in need of the following chairs; Education & Membership. Please let me know if you

are interested in chairing one of these committees.

This year we are not having our Golf Tournament, as our Association is hosting State Day, which

will be held on Saturday November 14, 2009, see newsletter for details. Carrie Mott is chairing

this event. On the Golf Tournament The CT State Council will be hosting the event this year, Co-

chaired by Lannie Baw & Carrie Mott. See Lannie Baw or Carrie Mott and newsletter for more

information.

Join us at our first meeting on Tuesday, September 22nd at Brazi’s on Long Wharf Dr., in New Ha-

ven. Catch up with each other and learn what our plans for the upcoming year are.

Together we all can accomplish so much. As we begin this year together think about getting in-

volved and let’s work toward our goals. This is a great organization and there is so much to gain

by all of us getting involved.

I look forward to seeing and working with all of you throughout this up and coming year.
