Poster Presentation Competition

on

The Department of Civil Engineering of Sree Vidyanikethan

Engineering College organized a Poster Presentation Competition on

“Automation in Civil Engineering Construction” under ASCE Sree

Vidyanikethan Engineering College Student Chapter Activities on 05th,

February 2018. The objective of the program is to motive and nurture

the poster presentation skills and impart knowledge on Automation in

Civil Engineering Construction.

A total 8 students of 5 teams from II and III B.Tech. Civil

Engineering II Semester has participated in the event. The whole event

was conducted with great zeal and enthusiasm. The competition was

conducted at Civil Engineering Seminar Hall from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Dr. O. Eswara Reddy, Professor and BOS Chairman, Department of Civil

Engineering, SVEC, and Faculty Advisor-ASCE SVEC Student Chapter; Dr.

M. V. Subba Reddy, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Civil

Engineering; Mr. D. V. Purushotham, Assistant Professor and

Coordinator-ASCE SVEC were the judges for the competition. They

evaluated the contenders on different criteria such as knowledge,

presentation, demonstration, creativity and content. Office barriers

of ASCE SVEC Student Chapter were the organizers of this programme.

Six members of civil engineering faculty attended to the event.

On the whole, the event has proved successful. The first prize

was bagged by

Mr. Vasantha Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and Mr. Purimetla Vijay of III B.

Tech and the second prize was secured by Mr. Sankala Penchala Karthik

of II B. Tech. Participation certificates were distributed to all the

participants. All other students of II & III B.Tech were visited the

poster presentations. The students were enriched with knowledge on

latest technologies used in the automation and also were able to

analyse the difference between automation and mechanization. Further,

it is believed that this event has ignited the young minds both to

learn and participate and to participate and learn.
