    Wake Up Alexandria is a networking event held the first and third Friday of each month from 7:30 to 8:30 am at a Chamber member location. A dollar gets you in the door, with all proceeds donated to a non-profit Chamber member.

    LifeRight Outreach opened a transitional housing facility for men in 2007. The organization serves those who are strug-gling from addiction or other life challenges who are serious about making radical change in their lives.

    Alex Auto & Marine of Alexandria received the Top 5 Lund Dealer Platinum Award for exceptional sales and service. The car and marine dealership offers new and pre-owned boats and cars.

    Dr. Scott Schmidt joined Dental Health Associates as an asso-ciate dentist. Scott and his wife Liz are Alexandria natives and have 3 daughters.

    Spectrum Marketing Servicecs has merged with Range Print-ing out of Brainerd, MN. This merger will allow for larger scale print jobs on a variety of marketing needs.

    Jim Glade joined the Winning Edge Graphics team as Director of Client and Employee Engagement. Glade will be responsi-ble for further developing relationships with existing and new clients, promotion of Winning Edge’s services and ensuring overall client satisfaction.

    The Alexandria Area Community Foundation (AACF) an-nounced the election of four new members to its Board of Directors. Mary Jane Reif, Nick Heydt, Derek Holt and Linda Akenson have been elected to serve initial three year terms.

    KIK-FM & COOL-FM has introduced new Regional General Manager, Matt Senne. Senne recently moved to Alexandria with his family and is looking forward to being involved in the community.

    Copper Trail Brewing Co. recently opened its doors at its new location in Alexandria at 205 Broadway St. A ribbon cutting was held Friday, September 13 at the new location, which features a variety of locally produced handcrafted beer.

    Be an informed voter! On November 5, resi-dents of the Alexandria Public School district will be asked to vote on a one-question referendum for an operating levy to provide funding for class-rooms, teachers, instruc-tion, utilities and other operating costs.

    The district is proposing a per student 10-year operating levy that will be phased in as follows: $375 per student in the 2020-21 school year, $485 in the 2021-22 school year and $595 in the remaining years of the levy.

    The Alexandria Chamber encourages you to educate your-self on the issue and exercise your right to vote. Polls will be open 7 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 5. There is a poll-finder on the website noted below if you are unsure of where to vote. Early voting may also be done at the school district office in the Woodland Elementary School building at 1410 S McKay Avenue in Alexandria Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm now through Novem-ber 4, with extended hours until 7 pm on Tuesday, October 29, Thursday, October 31 and Monday, November 4.
