Care for Newcomer Children ProgramThe kids have been learning all about transportation! They have been sharing stories and rhymes and making crafts about all things that go VROOM. The water bins filled with bubbles and boats were so much fun!

Welcome to The CommunityThe RETIS settlement workers are looking forward to meeting with you. Settlement workers would be happy to meet with you in person at the Newcomers Welcome Centre located at John Pritchard School, 1490 Henderson Hwy. Precautions are in place at the settlement office that follow the Manitoba provincial government COVID safety guidelines. This helps to ensure a safe and comfortable visit for all at the office. A RETIS settlement worker can also meet with you virtually using your phone, iPad, or computer. Setting up a meeting is easy. Just contact the settlement office anytime to set up an appointment.
Each family meeting for the first time with a settlement worker will receive a welcome bag. The bags contain important information about the River East and Transcona communities, employment information, recreation opportunities, and some special surprises for your family.
Welcome bags and settlement services are free of charge and open to all families with permanent residency.
