GEMINI FREESTYLE 37 BALI 4.0 DAY CHARTER

Designed by Christophe Barreau, the TS 3 is an atypicalcatamaran amongst current production. This multihull, whichcan be dismantled and transported in a 40-foot container , isdesigned for coastal or semi-offshore cruising, as it meetsthe demands of category B in the EC standards. Among the particularly attractive new features on this boat,we find a canting rig, which allows it to regain positive stabi-lity in the case of a capsize. The (succinct) accommodationis found in the central nacelle (two double berths). The hullscan serve for extra berths, and accommodate the heads andstowage space.

Seawind is undergoing a revival, andthe new boats are following eachother, as proved by this Seawind1190, developed from the very well-known 1160, 150 examples of whichare sailing all over the world. Thenew version is equipped with dagger-boards, and the accent has been pla-ced on performance (propulsion byelectric outboard, and 20% lighterthan the 1160). The boat was seenfor the first time at Annapolis, but hasalready won a few regattas. A boatwith a good pedigree!

With the Freestyle, Gemini is of fering a genuine moderncatamaran, meaning a platform you will be able to custo-mize as you wish. Are you looking for a basic cruisingboat? A day-charter boat? A boat for partying or welco-ming your friends and relaxing? Everything is possible onthe basic boat offered by the builder. The day-charter ver-sion can carry up to 24 seated passengers aboard, at anabsolutely unbeatable price. The GeminiFreestyle is theworthy successor tothe best-sellingGemini 105 MCand Legacy, built inthe USAsince...1981!

The 39 is a catamaran which of fers an impressive feeling of space and volume. The work carried out by moving the rig aft has allowed the forward end to befreed of the mast support strut, giving a totally uninterrupted view forward. Butthat’s not all: By re-centering the rig, and thanks to the new sail plan, pitching hasbeen limited, and the self-tacking jib greatly simplifies the handling. A real plus for a family crew, making this 39-footer a successful travelling companion.

With the Leopard 40, we again find a new generation catamaran, which picks up the fea-tures which have been sosuccessful on the Leopard44 and 48. But this cata-maran is also lively andeasy to sail. It is well-can-vassed, but remains tole-rant in the gusts, with agood safety margin. A

boat which is reallycut out for adven-tures and longvoyages, with excel-lent sailing qualitiesand very well-suitedliving comfortaboard.

With the 40-footer, the Bali range is now particularly consistent.Just like its big sisters, the 4.5 and 4.3 (whilst awaiting the 5.2and 5.8), the Bali 4.0 offers an open space between the cockpitand the saloon. A glazed door which folds away on electricrams allows the boat to go from the Cozy mode (closed) to theLounge mode (open to the anchorage)... Once again on the4.0 we find the forward cockpit – there is no trampoline on theBalis – and the very nice glazed doors which disappear totallyto offer optimum ventilation.

With the Open 40, Nautitech has succeeded in a masterstroke:offering a boat which is easy to sail shorthanded, whilst remai-ning elegant, lively and structurally rigorous. In short, a success! The nacelle’s accommodation concept, combining the ergono-mic qualities of an original deck saloon with those of a comforta-ble interior, is a success and will delight long-term cruisers, whatever the weather conditions. Finally, the Open 40 is a boatcapable of good averages under sail, even when loaded for along-term voyage.

Presented to the public for the first time at the last ParisBoat Show, the Lucia 40 is an excellent catamaran, whoseliveable volume and tasteful accommodation explain its suc-cess. But it’s under sail that the Lucia is surprising: itsease of handling and its performance make it an ideal boatfor an Atlantic circuit as a family, and there is nothing tostop you envisaging cruising as far as the confines of thelagoons on the other side of the world.

Fun and excitement are on the program for this trimaran, built in V ietnam.Aboard, 3 or 4 people will be really comfortable in the giant cockpit, which is well-designed and sufficiently protected for a day’s sailing.
