Dear Parent/Carer The following guide is to help you support your child through Key Stage 4. In this booklet you will find the Examinations and Controlled Assessments the students will be taking throughout their courses. Dates of coursework due to be handed in, and the location of useful websites to supplement revision is also given. Controlled Assessment will take place in the classroom under teacher supervision. Examinations are written in a formal setting either in the Arts Hall or Sports Hall unless the student requires special consideration. In Years 10 and 11 students will have controlled assessments and coursework in a variety of subjects. These contribute to the final grade in a subject. It is really important that your child maintains good attendance to ensure they are able to complete all of these tasks in class. Many departments will be offering revision classes during the year – encourage your child to find out which classes are being run and when. Your child is about to enter a very important stage of learning and we would like to thank you for your continued support. If you have any queries or concerns please do not hesitate to contact your child’s House Leader or Student Progress Leader.
