August 2014 to January 2015George Morrison ELP Ltd – Blackpool, Lancs Project Manager In 2014 a great opportunity arose, when I was head hunted by George Morrison’s as a Project Manager, enabling me to return to an industry I know best, running various projects across the North West and Yorkshire.
This role was to oversee and manage multiple projects with values of around £30,000 - £40,000 and included overseeing 10-12 heads per project plus subcontractors. The work carried out was for works in all government sites, upgrading various job centres and Harrogate Army Foundation College, which was the design and build of judo and boxing gyms at Harrogate Army College.
2010-2014 Change of career ,driving a disabled vehicle
1988 - 2010I ran my own medium sized Electrical Plumbing and General Maintenance Company for 22 years, we carried out work for Lancashire County Council and the N.H.S, I left the industry in 2010, for a change of direction. Work included running multiple projects of around £85,000 with 12 direct reports, plus multi-skilled subcontractors on site.
As a Director of the business I was also responsible for carrying out a full risk assessment for each site prior to any work being carried out and for the duration of the project, this included ensuring that all H&S compliance was adhered to.
