ABOUT LAWKIM MOTORS
The Automated Guided Vehicle is most commonly known in the
industry by its acronym AGV. An AGV is the most advanced,
economical, safe and efficient solution for point-to-point indoor
material handling. An AGV is an independent load carrier which
carries unit loads, bins and trays containing components from one
point to another. It travels on a fixed, predetermined, linear or
curved path and stops at defined workstation/s for loading or
unloading of material.
Conventionally, AGVs are powered using battery or regular electric
supply through ground cables/busbars and current collector
mechanism. They travel on rails laid on the shop floor or on a
magnetic strip track.
We, at Lawkim Innovation Centre, have successfully developed an
advanced version of AGV using our motors and an extremely
simplified Route Sensing Arrangement. Lawkim AGVs travel on a
painted track. They automatically sense the colour of the paint
strip on the shop floor and travel on the marked path. Besides
simplicity in operation, this is one of the most flexible and safe
material handling systems due to its several inbuilt features.
