Islamabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan reported 130 cases and 5 new deaths collectively during the last 24 hours. The federal capital reported 63 cases and 3 new deaths. In Gilgit Baltistan, 26 new cases and 2 deaths were recorded. Azad Jammu and Kashmir also reported 41 new cases. Balochistan reported 78 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. Of the total, 62 are from Quetta, 8 from Mastung, 4 from Jafarabad, 2 from Lasbela and 1 each from Khuzdar and Kech. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 445 new COVID-19 cases and 7 more deaths during the last 24 hours – 3 in Abbottabad, 2 in Swabi and 1 each in Peshawar and Nowshera. Punjab has reported 706 new coronavirus cases and recorded 15 more fatalities due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Sindh has reported 1,390 COVID-19 cases and 42 deaths over the past 24 hours. Out of these, 759 cases were detected in Karachi. A total of 9,317 tests were conducted during the last 24 hours. A total of 652 patients are in critical condition. Handicap International provides health and hygiene kits and food package in Peshawar and Nowshera.

Action Against Hunger provided PPEs to health and nutrition staff for the continuation of life savingnutrition interventions in Sindh. This included 150,000 surgical masks, 6,000 hand sanitizers (100 ml),2,400 examination gloves, 270 heavy duty gloves, 842 protection overall, 842 protection goggles and 40chlorine tabs 500 gm bottles. In a joint effort, Cesvi and Helvatas provided medical equipment and personal protective gears for 1,200disposable uses and full time use in South Waziristan. They also provided sanitization items for hospitals,isolation and quarantines centers in all districts of South Waziristan. International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) distributed PPEs in six districts in KhyberPakhtunkhwa. It also conducted community awareness and sensitization over COVID-19 in the province. Relief International provided support with the provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) toGovernment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Department of Health in District Peshawar. The PPEs comprised of34,800 pairs of gloves, 8,700 N-95 masks, 2,900 face shields, 34,800 gowns and 8,700 Tyvek suits.

Health

International Rescue Committee (IRC) provided the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) staff inthree  districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, namely Buner, Swat and Peshawar, with supplies for chlorinedisinfection drives. Médecins du Monde France donated PPEs to district healt authorities, hygiene Kits, and conductedawareness raising.  Mercy Corps provided support and orientation of PTP/MC TB care services advisory during COVID-19emergency to GPs/lab technicians in Islamabad.

WASH 

Muslim Aid Pakistan handed over 2 ambulances: 1 to NDMA in Islamabad and 1 to PPHI inQuetta, Balochistan, to support the transportation of COVID-19 patients wherever the departments findneeds.

In an open letter to the WHO, 239 scientists in 32 countries have outlined the evidence showing that smaller particles ofthe coronavirus can infect people via airborne transmission, and are calling for the agency to revise its recommendations.The researchers plan to publish their letter in a scientific journal next week. Britain's GSK said it will develop and test a potential COVID-19 vaccine using its booster  technology and Canadianbiopharmaceutical firm Medicago’s coronavirus-like particles. The companies aim to make their vaccine available in thefirst half of next year and produce about 100 million doses by the end of 2021. Early stage testing in humans is expectedto begin in mid-July. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals said the US government signed a $450 million contract with the  drugmaker  to make andsupply its potential double antibody cocktail for COVID-19. The cocktail, REGN-COV2, is in separate clinical trials assessingits effectiveness in preventing and treating COVID-19. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned that the Covid-19 pandemic provides new opportunities for theIslamic State extremist group, al-Qaeda and their affiliates as well as neo-Nazis, white supremacists and hate groups.
