FTTx is necessary to offer today’s

and tomorrow’s always growing

demand for higher bandwidth.

DT has chosen to go for a gradual deployment of Fibre Optic, while

using VDSL for the termination (last mile). This will allow to offer very

high bandwidth to the users, while maintaining reasonable costs.

However FTTx requires

investments which are significantly

higher than those of xDSL.
