The feds dished out a kidnapping-conspiracycharge yesterday against a New Jersey mantied to alleged NYPD cannibal wannabe
Gilberto Valle.
Michael Van Hise, 22, was busted by the FBIat his Trenton home and charged withoffering Valle $5,000 to kidnap and deliver a
woman so he could rape and kill her.

Van Hise’s arrest came after he had beencooperating with the feds but then stopped,said a source briefed on the matter.
Court papers say Van Hise was questionedduring a raid on his home on Oct. 26, a dayafter Valle’s stunning arrest on charges ofscheming to kidnap, rape, torture cook andeat women he targeted with the help of a law-enforcement database.
Van Hise allegedly admitted sending e-mailsin which he and Valle discussed a plannedabduction and Van Hise tried to knock downthe price after Valle sent him a photo of the
intended victim.
The Manhattan federal court complaint says Valle, accused of downloading achloroform recipe from the Internet, told Van Hise: “I will really get off on knockingher out, tying her hands and bare feet, and gagging her. Then she will be stuffed into alarge piece of luggage and wheeled out to my van.”
“Just make sure she doesn’t die before I get her,” Van Hise allegedly replied.
Van Hise also admitted sending e-mails to two unidentified people “aboutkidnapping, raping and murdering women and children,” according to the complaint.
Van Hise allegedly sent those people “photographs of a minor girl known to him” andgave them “the purported address of the child, which was in close proximity to thechild’s actual home address.”
Valle’s trial is set to begin on Jan. 22, and his lawyer yesterday accused the feds ofarresting Van Hise to prevent him from testifying that he and Valle were merelyengaging in sexual fantasies online.
“He is being used as a pawn to try to bolster a very weak case,” said public defenderJulia Gatto.
Van Hise, who works as an auto mechanic, is married with a toddler son and an infantdaughter.
His wife, Bolice, couldn’t be reached for comment, but his grandmother, Mary, whohelped raise him, said she was “hysterical” over his arrest.
“She said that Michael wasn’t all there in the head,” said former neighbor Juan Vega,84.
He added that he often heard Van Hise and his wife arguing prior to their evictionseveral months ago.
Meanwhile, prosecutors yesterday urged a judge to reject Valle’s bid to be freed fromjail on weekdays so he can go to his lawyers’ offices to prepare for his trial.
Another female neighbor said Van Hise “was always a very strange kid. Hisgrandmother took him to a behavioral school to help him work out some of his mentalproblems.”

Van Hise appeared sullen during a brief court appearance at which he sported baggyjeans and an over-sized black T-shirt bearing the name of the heavy metal bandSlipknot and images of its mask-wearing members.
In response to questions from the judge, he answered “yes” several times in amonotone.
“He struck me as a very vulnerable young man,” said court-appointed defense lawyerAlice Fontier, who plans to seek bail for Van Hise on Monday morning.
