25th Anniversary
Regular Meeting Date Change Effective in January
Our current meeting venue, Pantagis Renaissance/Snuffy’s Clambar, in Scotch Plains, NJ has announced some scheduling changes. As a result, beginning with the January 15, 2014 meeting, all regular AWS NJ Section meetings will switch to the third Wednesday of the month. Please help to spread the word to others in the welding and related industries by sharing this info and including it in correspondence.

This presentation will discuss the advantages of weld cable control, and the type of equipment that currently is being used in this new technology.
Dennis Mead has been involved in the welding industry for 33 years. A member of AWS for 25 years, he has served the NJ Section in a variety of committee capacities and on the Execu-tive Committee. . He became a District Manager of Miller Elec-tric Mfg Co. 14 years ago, and is currently responsible for allITW Products (Miller, Hobart, Smith, Bernard, Weldcraft, & Tregaskiss) throughout the Greater New York and Northern New Jersey territory.

The AWS NJ Section CWI Seminar & Exam was held October 13 - 19, 2013 at the PSEG, LLC Fossil Training Center in South Plainfield, NJ. Mr. Kenneth Kearney, Training Manager for PSEG hosted the class. There were 35 in attendance at the seminar; and 50 sat for the exam, some taking the Practical Exam and others taking an endorsement for their 9 year renewal. The moderator was Mr. James Gree, Senior Certified Welding Inspector and AWS Past President. NJ Section members Robert Petrone and James Dolan served as supervisors; and Eric Dolan, Al Fleury and Paul Lenox served as proctors for the exam. The NJ Section acknowledges and thanks all in-volved. Special thanks to PSEG for the use of their outstanding facilities.
