  • BUILDING ENGINEER 101a New Journey Program for EngineersRockwell Property Management

  • Rockwell is rapidly expanding. We are now venturing into both vertical and horizontal developments, constructing high-rise and mid-rise towers, and catering to not only high-end, but also to broader market that expects us to deliver the Rockwell brand we are known for.

In anticipation of a number of properties we will manage in the near future, we need to have a pool of talent, particularly building engineers.

Knowing that we hire engineers with different backgrounds experienced and recent board passers alike we need to have a standard material that will provide generalized learning and with an ultimate goal to protect the Rockwell brand. We aim to STRIKE happiness and success to all.VISION

    MISSION

To provide the newly hired Building Engineers a broader range of knowledge and information, strengthen their competitiveness through a standard on-boarding program

    OBJECTIVES

To standardize the on-boarding program for newly hired engineers

To design a curriculum with corresponding metrics to measure the performance and understanding of the items involved in the program

To fast track the readiness of Building Engineers to go on solo duty

To complement the technical skills of engineers from the very beginning prior to being exposed to unit concerns

Focus of the OnBoarding Program: Improvement of the Work OperationsPeople-oriented.

  • It is an On-Boarding Program for newly hired Building Engineers. This is a step-by-step approach in a span of 4 weeks, wherein the newly hired Building Engineer will be engaged in thorough discussions and learnings through various methodologies concerning the roles and responsibilities of a Building Engineer. Through this program, we can fully develop our people and conduct the necessary preparations before the engineer takes on a solo duty. Using this program, we will focus mainly on four things:

    Company and Organization

    Business Operations

  • This program is equipped with characteristics that aim to STRIKE a big difference to our newly hire Building Engineers and to our organization.S T R I K ENew Journey ProgramStructured It is a more improved version of on-boarding program that focuses on building a strong foundation of knowledge, behavior, and relationship.Time BoundThere is a timetable wherein specific objectives are designated to be achieved. Through this, we can keep track of the learning pace of new hires.Review and DebriefingThere is an everyday assessment to measure the level of understanding and appreciation of the new hires, and at the same time will yield a collaborative relationship between him and the management.InvolvingThe salient point is the active involvement of everyone especially the upper management. Through a courtesy call to our Team Heads and having point persons, the new hires will immediately feel the warmth of Rockwell from the very beginning and all throughout this program.Kick-starterA culminating activity is embodied in this program that will develop and improve the new hires initiative and gauge how much he is acculturate to the Rockwell culture.EclecticIt is not function centric and task-oriented in terms of collaboration. Inputs of people on-board are always taken into consideration, and interdependencies amongst the team will be established.

  • Ivan Joseph PelaezRegistered Electrical EngineerIt is really challenging for me to be involved in this project and at the same time, I feel extremely happy because it is a privilege for me to share something that everyone can benefit from. With the help from our superiors and different people-- we were able to come up with a much better output. In doing so, we were also refreshed on how we started as Building Engineers when we were still the new ones and reminded us of how much we have gone today.

In addition, working on this exercise also made me realized that we still have room for improvement and we should continue to strive harder for excellence. This is an experience that I wont forget for the rest of my life, and one reason why I would hold my head up high and take pride in my work.Mark Louwie BonifacioRegistered Electrical EngineerIn the process of making this program, there are significant things I have realized. First, everyone can make a difference. We are privileged that we have been given the chance to be part of putting together this project. It served as an avenue for us to share our thoughts, ideas, and experiences, and to integrate them to the program.

Secondly, no man is an island. We will not be able to produce this output without the help and support from our superiors and colleagues. We need the help of other people who have more experience and knowledge. This is a product of the combined ideas and experiences of different people. Indeed, it was one most remarkable and life-changing experiences I had.Behind the Scene
