Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar and is a sacred time for Muslims all

over the world. This year, it started on the 27th of May until the month after. It is a celebration

because it is considered as a month of blessing. It is the holy month of fasting, praying and giving.

People is used to the warm temperature that scourges during the Holy Month of Ramadan, despite

the warm temperature our Muslim brothers and sisters’ s faith is as its peak and very pure when it

comes to their practices and beliefs. We usually hear this greeting “Ramadan Kareem” during this

month, a greeting that resembles generosity and a blessing.

During the Holy month of Ramadan, Muslims practice fasting in different aspects. Things

must be done accordingly, it means abstaining oneself from food, water, smoking, engaging in

physical and/or earthly desires. Muslims usually breaks the fast at sunset called “Iftar”, and the

other which is taken in the morning is called “Suhoor”. Muslims discourages immoral act and en-

courages discipline towards ourselves and most specially to others. They devoted themselves in

prayers and worships to Allah.

As the saying goes, “there’ s a rainbow after always the rain”. It similarly implies to the

celebration after fasting and it is the Eid Al Ftr. It is the ‘festival of breaking the 10th month of the

Islamic lunar calendar. This celebration serves as a reward and victorious devotion that they of-

fered for good deeds and worships.

MTB – ‘Meet the Buyer’ is a programmed of one to one appointments

between Senior Managers or Technical Purchasing Managers or Super-

intendents and Senior Buyers from leading Asia ship owning and ship

management companies together with the supplier companies from all

areas of the marine industry. It gives us the opportunity to meet some

of the leading ship companies and prospect buyers to create a first

impression, which can support to establish a relationship towards our

future clients.

This year the event was held at Bali, Indonesia on 19th – 22nd of April

2017 with the participation of Mr. Ryusaku Hayashi, Managing Director

of Middle East Fuji LLC.

Indeed, it was an effective way to understand the needs of the buyers in order to provide excellent service worldwide.

Department also displayed our products in the

show. We were present at the Sheikh Maktoum

Hall, stand number SM-C12 in the expert zone.

MEF was the associate sponsor for the event and

also we showcased our products in the ‘Tool it

challenge’ The competition featured 48 techni-

cians over 5 categories: metal drilling, metal

grinding, metal screwing, measurement tools and

wood screwing. The top 3 from each category

received a certificate and medal while the winners

received special prizes from the sponsors Nitto

Kohki, Bosch, Hitachi and 3M.

Mr. Hirouyuki Katada (Nitto Kohki Japan), Mr.

Prashant Psadagalekar(3M Gulf), Mr. Suhas Paste

(Knipex, Germany) were also present in our stand.

We thank them for their support.

Hardware and tools Middle East is the trade show

that is more specifically equipped to cater to the

construction, fabrication and technical industries

with the latest tools, hardware, materials and

machinery.

Hardware+Tools Middle East is an important busi-

ness platform to find out the requirements of

projects of all scales and complexities. It’s our

opportunity to show case our range of products,

meet and establish a direct connection with buy-

ers and to increase the efficiency of our business.

The 18th Edition of Hardware & Tools Middle East

was held at the Dubai International Exhibition and

convention center from May 22nd to 24th 2017.

Nearly 50 direct exhibitors displayed more than

200 international brands of machinery & equip-

Yearly, Middle East Fuji LLC is conducting a safety

mock drill to ensure that staff are

prepared and equipped in the event

of fire, earthquake and other forms

of emergency. On June 1st, Thurs-

day, we have exercised fire drill

around 11:09 in the morning which

was led by our newly appointed Safety Officer,

Ms. Robilyn Libut. All evacuation was com-

pleted in just 1 minute and 24 seconds with the

help of Emergency Response Team – Mr. Kiran,

Mr. Pradeep, Mr. Manoj, Mr. Jose, Mr. Suku-

mar, Mr. Romar and Mr. Sabeer.

On the same day around 11:21 in the morning,

we have conducted the earthquake drill. Every-

one should know the

“Drop, Cover,

Hold” when there is

an earthquake.

Prior to the evacuation of the staff, the Safety

Officer together with the Emergency Response

Team checked the

main exit point.

The evacuation

started at ground

floor and ware-

house within 2

minutes and 19

seconds, and first

floor evacuated

the premise for 1

minute and 17 seconds. All staff and visitors were

gathered at Emergency Assembly point, started

the headcount and checked for injuries.

For Medical Emergency Drill, we asked

Ms. Jergin from Communications &

Document Control Team to act as

patient during the drill. She suddenly

fainted and collapsed due to extreme heat

outside. There were 2 witnesses, Mr. Romar

and Sabeer who called for help from the

first aiders. Ms. Janine as first aider arrived at

the location.

The casualty was immediately transferred on

the stretcher and performed the first aid pro-

cedure.

The training promotes awareness at times of accidents and give insights to preparedness when unex-

pected situations arises that needs immediate action.

One of the important resource a

company or organization has are

its employees and workers. Safe-

ty is one of the responsibility of

the employer especially during at

work or inside of the company

premises. We may cannot avoid accidents nor

accidents but in times we can lessen or assist any

unexpected worst condition to happen.

In connection with these, Middle East

Fuji initiated a First Aid Training with the course,

Level 2 International Award in Emergency First

Aid at Work (Highfield Awarding Body for Compli-

ance (HABC-UK) last June 20 in MEF Conference

Room with the duration of six hours. The training

was conducted by Delta Safe Training and Con-

sultancy.

aid is the assistance given to

any person suffering a sudden

illness or injury, with care

provided to preserve life,

prevent the condition from worsening,

Sprenger. First Aid Handbook. 4th Ed. 2016).

The training consists of theoretical and practical

discussions to the participants which teaches

preparedness and responsiveness. Some topics

during the training includes: first aider respon-

sibilities, assessing an incident, managing an

unresponsive casualty, respiratory system,

major and minor injuries. Practical application

of first aid also includes first aid application and

Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
