Show Winners At the Coopersburg Collector Car Show on Aug. 15th, Mitch Eisenhart won 1st Place with his ’63 Corvair Spyder Convertible and Ike Eisenhart took 1st with his ’66 Corvette.

August 22nd brought more trophies to the AACC camp when George Wetherhold, Dennis Phillips, and Jim Peters all won at the Wheels of Faith car show in Whitehall, PA.   CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!!

End of the Road for Corvette Fever The October 2010 issue of Corvette Fever magazine will be the last.  The economy has left its mark on the publishing industry as Source Media Group , parent company of both Corvette Fever and Vette magazines, have consolidated publications to the latter rag.  The “new” Vette will be printed on better paper, have a heavier, glossier cover, and will grow by more than 16 editorial pages to bring you more features and tech.

Current Fever subscribers will automatically receive Vette, but newsstand buyers must look for the new name.

A Change of Pace by Kevin Minnich By now you have likely noticed the newsletter looks different than it has over the past decade.  Phil Weber’s life caught up with his time available to publish AACC’s newsletter, so Michelle and I resumed our prior Editorial responsibilities.  New times meant a new look.  We hope that you are pleased with our design and we look forward to your solicitations for information and any information or photos you can provide us.

A special thanks to Phil, Nancy, Cooper and Avia for stepping in with the ‘Vetter’s Letter while I got my work life resolved.  Now it’s my (our) turn to repay the favor.  Phil, good luck with your final classes and Master’s thesis.  Hopefully your busy work life filled with getting things in to space leaves enough time to spend with your family.  Thanks again for your support!

GM Files with SEC from GMInsideNews.com On Aug. 18, 2010, General Motors Company registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a proposed initial public offering consisting of common stock and the issuance of Series B mandatory convertible junior preferred stock.  The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the offering have not yet been determined.

Corvettes at Carlisle 2010 Carlisle is all about Corvettes the last weekend in August each year.  You really have to see it to believe it…

Lance Miller got the Burnout Contest started with an incredible show. Frank Shuletsky’s keys fell in his trunk. Carlisle Maintenance came to the rescue.

Bob Gredlics, AACC Lifetime member, had his 1960 in the tribute display.                    How badly do you need parts for a 2008?

AACC Walks, Talks, and Drinks Beer! Saturday, August 14 – AACC members headed to Pottsville, PA to tour Yuengling – America’s Oldest Brewery.  We had the first private group tour of the day and after a short staging in the Gift Shop, we headed down towards the historic caves.  Unfortunately, the Pottsville facility only operates weekdays, so we couldn’t see the bottling and canning lines running, but all was explained in detail and at least it was easy to hear our your host.  The tour lasted about 45 minutes and concluded in the bar area – where all got two samples of their choice of brew (or birch beer).  Thanks to Jim Fagan for organizing the event – including the after‐lunch on our trip home at the 50’s‐style diner!
