New  Students  -­‐  How  to  Register  for  Orientation      Step  1.  Click  on  “Learn  More  and  Register!”  under  New  Student  Orientation  on  your  Home  tab.    

                                                     

     Step  2.  Read  the  SOAR  information  page  and  check  your  admissions  records  are  in  order  before  registering  for  SOAR.    

 Step  3.  If  you  are  ready  to  register  for  SOAR,  return  to  this  page  and  click  on  “Register  Now  by  clicking  this  link!”  

 Step  4.  Verify  and  update  your  personal  Information.      

                       

You  can  opt  to  receive  a  text  message  reminder  in  addition  to  e-­‐mail  reminders.    If  you  click  “yes”,  you  will  need  to  specify  your  phone  carrier  and  mobile  phone  number  

                     

             

 Scroll  down  the  page  to  update  your  Emergency  Contact  information  and    

  alternate  e-­‐mail  address    

   Step  5.    Then  click  on                                

 Step  6.  Fill  out  the  Questionnaire  section.    

       

Scroll  down  the  page  and  fill  out  the  rest  of  the  Questionnaire  section.    Then  click  on    

       

   Step  7.  Select  an  Orientation  date  from  the  options  available.    

   NOTE:  Select  the  Online  Orientation  2013-­‐14  ONLY  if    

1. You  cannot  make  any  of  the  on-­‐campus  SOAR  sessions.  (check  our  website  for  future  dates)  

2. You  plan  to  enroll  only  in  online  classes.  3. You  will  begin  taking  classes  during  the  2nd  8  -­‐week  session.  

 Then  click  on                            

   Step  8.      Skip  this  section.  Guests  are  not  invited  to  SOAR  at  this  time.    

     Click  on      Step  9.    Your  reservation.  Review  the  information  you  provided  and  make  sure  to  click  the  submit  button  when  you  are  done.      

     

 Step  10.  Click  on  the  “submit”  button  at  the  top  or  bottom  of  the  “My  Reservation”  page  to  complete  your  reservation  

     Step  11.  Congratulations!  You  have  completed  your  reservation.    Thank  you!    

   

     

Step  12.  To  exit  the  reservation  system,  click  on            Sign  up  for  a  SOAR  Session  date  as  soon  as  possible.      You  can  always  return  to  the  reservation  system  at  any  time  to  change  your  date  if  necessary.  Check  our  website  for  a  list  of  SOAR  dates:  http://www.northweststate.edu/SOAR/HowtoRegister.html      

To  return  to  your  reservation  at  a  later  date,  follow  Steps  1  through  3.  Your  completed  reservation  will  appear  as  follows:  

     

      To  make  changes  to  your  session  Date  (or  any  other  section),  select  the    

 to  the  right  of  the  section.    

             

What  –If  Scenarios    Scenario  1.  You  are  required  to  take  SOAR  but  you  get  the  message  “Need  to  take  COMPASS  test  before  registering  for  Orientation”            

   

Solution:  Return  to  the  Student  Information  page  (Step  2)  and  click  on  the  link  to  schedule  a  COMPASS  test.      

     Once  you  have  completed  your  COMPASS  test,  you  may  have  to  wait  48  -­‐72  hours  to  sign  up  for  your  SOAR  session.            

Scenario  2.  You  DO  NOT  need  to  take  SOAR  according  to  the  Admission  Checklist  (step  2)  –  If  you  are  a  guest  student,  transfer  student,  H.S.  student,  returning  student,  or  enrolled  in  a  short-­‐term  certificate  -­‐  –  You  do  not  need  to  take  SOAR.                  Solution:  An  optional  Online  Orientation  training  class  is  available  for  anyone  interested.      Go  to  “  MyCourses”  under  the  Academics  tab  to  sign  up  for  this  session  by  clicking        on  the  link.      

         Scenario  3.  You  meet  all  the  requirements  in  the  Admission  Checklist  (step  2)  but  you  receive  the  message    “Unmatched  imported  Student  Registration  Attempt”
