THE SYSTEM SOLUTION

The fully preassembled system is at the heart of the

concept study. The components are already connected

as part of the 4in1 system and can be installed imme

diately. Depending on the design and installation con

ditions, the NEXSYS can be combined with different

design panels and waste fittings.

NEXSYS – THE ASSEMBLY

The system consists of a flat shower surface made of

KALDEWEI steel enamel, waste channel, sealing for all

of the important installation options, and a support

element. The support element with integrated slope

ensures optimal and safe water runoff without the

need to make an elaborate sloping screed.

A NEW DIMENSION OF FLEXIBILITY

NEXSYS enables complete flexibility for bathroom plan

ning. It has been produced in such a way – with up to

200 dimensions – that a hitherto unachieved diversity

of sizes is possible. NEXSYS can thus be used in any

bathroom, be it a newbuild or a refurbishment.

DETAIL SOLUTIONS

NEXSYS’s most striking feature is its design cover

which allows it to fit perfectly and absolutely flush into

the minimalist overall picture. Another hallmark of the

concept’s look are the sharp radii that demonstrate

KALDEWEI’s great manufacturing expertise.

The new way of entering the world of floor-level shower

surfaces is called CAYONOPLAN. Thanks to 19 different

dimensions, its waste outlet at the side and the ultra

flat tray support for the easiest possible assembly, the

CAYONOPLAN is the ideal solution. With a rim height of

32mm and/or 40mm for formats with side lengths

of over 120cm, it can be perfectly installed on top of

tiles, although floor-level installation is also possible.

As the perfect match for the CAYONO bathtub and

the PURO washbasin, the CAYONOPLAN rounds off bath

room design.

breaking system solutions, but as an improvement on

its predecessors it allows for even simpler, faster instal

lation. For instance, its superior 3D leg system can now

be finetuned from above. The ESR floorlevel also

offers maximum security when it comes to sealing:

the new sealing system was developed to meet new

standard requirements, whereby the triedandtrusted

advantage of reversibility has been retained. Put simply,

KALDEWEI’s excellent product design continues in the

places that only the plumber sees.

Security against water penetration damage is the top

priority for KALDEWEI’s new installation system frame,

which is why, both technically and in the context of

changing standards, the new sealing concept is the

IMPROVED IN THE DETAIL

The size markings on the aluminium profile make it

easier to cut the leg frame to the desired size.

Our leg frames have always allowed for clean, precise

work. Nonetheless we have continued to optimise them,

focusing on simplified installation so that now, for in

stance, the height can be adjusted from above.

Size markings on the frame do away with the time

consuming measurement of shower and aluminium

profiles. Two models of these optimised leg frames are

available: the FR 5300 FLEX and the FR 5300 FLEX PLUS

with additional kit.

FLEX COMES FROM FLEXIBLE

The leg frame can be used for various installation situ

ations: floor-level, on top of floor tiles or for installation

on a pedestal. The 3D leg system can be adjusted both

horizontally and vertically, allowing for flexible height

adjustment from 63 to 164mm. And a separate foot

kit can be added on with ease for special heights of

164mm to 250mm.

IT’S ALL INCLUDED

Rubber profiles and sound-insulated feet help to insu

late against noise. As a bonus, the FR 5300 FLEX PLUS

includes a trayconnection insulation strip, additional

floor fastening and a 3D foot unit.

The versatility of the new multipurpose corners can

scarcely be matched given that they adapt flexibly to any

given installation situation. Together with the wall

corners, these elements are perfectly coordinated with

KALDEWEI shower surfaces and their geometry. The

Securing the bathroom against water penetration is

becoming ever more important. Since KALDEWEI steel

enamel surfaces are seamless, they provide optimum

corners and niches.

SYSTEMATIC SEALING

The SEALING KIT FLEX is the universal solution for

NEW DESIGN SOLUTIONS

WERNER AISSLINGER is a multi awardwinning designer. His “July Chair” is

on show at the MoMA, while his Studio Aisslinger has offices in both Berlin

and Singapore. Moreover, his design office’s works are currently the subject

of an entire museum exhibition: Werner Aisslinger and his team are showing

their creations – including a KALDEWEI bathtub – at the Pinakothek der

Moderne in Munich under the title “House of Wonders”.

W. Aisslinger: Our design office is at home in many different worlds.

We are accustomed to constantly feeling our way creatively into new

contexts and because we handle a great many major interior design

projects such as hotels, malls or cruise ships, designing bathrooms is a

familiar area for us.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT DESIGNING BATHROOM OBJECTS?

W. Aisslinger: Bathrooms are currently undergoing a rapid evolution and,

apart from the fact that for some time they have been getting bigger, more

homely and more wellnessoriented, in future they will also be the only

places in the home where daily rituals are more important than the increas

ingly omnipresent digital world which is gaining a foothold in every area of

life. For designers this means creating a place of wellbeing that will become

increasingly more colourful, materialoriented, more unconventional and

more imaginative.

WHAT WAS THE GREATEST CHALLENGE IN DESIGNING THE OBJECTS?

W. Aisslinger: Taking another step forward with KALDEWEI and being the

first manufacturer to test rimless design with regard to steel enamel. Then

there was the question of how the pure, singleshell bathtubs could be in

terpreted within the given space in a completely new way and integrated

into different architectures. The result was TRICOLORE and GRID, whose

concepts offer a new connection with the surrounding architecture and

allow bathtub and washbasin, like freestanding pieces of furniture, to

assume sculptural yet functional structures.

DESIGN

Werner Aisslinger & Tina Bunyaprasit. The hallmark of

the GRID concept is the way surfaces and volumes are

dissolved in favour of an open framework structure. The

singlewalled and thus weightlesslooking washbasin

and bathtub seem to float and are visible as outlines.

The grid structure contains not only the washbasin and

bathtub but can also integrate products and accesso

ries or plants that can be inserted into it, collagestyle.

explores no fewer than two new themes. On the one

hand, the mainly monochrome white bathroom world is

completely revolutionised through the addition of colour.

On the other hand, the bathtub puts an entirely new

interpretation on the historical archetype of the free

standing lion claw tub. Think collage! The bathtub is

enamelled in two colours; the third colour comes from

the frame whose wraparound band appears to have

been cut out of a different bathtub.

For decades we have driven our artistry in working with

steel enamel to ever new heights. Because this is the

The round bowls of the MIENA line appear delicate,

almost fragile. The contours run in a single gentle

and harmonious curve towards the waste outlet. The

resulting reduced footprint gives the bowls an even

more weightless look. You almost get the sense that

they are floating on the given undercounter.

The angular MIENA bowls are just as delicate but with a

far more masculine look. Comparatively small radii, the

only partially rounded contours and the square waste
