The dinner and bazaar at the Me- Final Rites in Zeeland for Kin Of Sparta Families Funeral services were held Mon- day afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Zeeland for Mrs. Maggie Schut. aged 80, of 127 Pine Street, Sparta, (widow of Andrew Schut) who passed away on Friday, De- cember 4, at Blodgett Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids following , a lingering illness. She is survived by diree sons, Floyd, Warren, and Earnest, all of Sparta; two daughters, Mrs. Mel- vir (Evelyn) Rogers of Sparta and Vjrs. Carl (Harriett) Hofman of Crane Rapids; one daughter-in-law, S'-rs. Gerald Schut of Hudsonville; one brother, Laurence DeVries of Zeeland,; three sisters, Mrs. Wil- liam Schipper and Miss Myrtle De- Vries, both of Zeeland. KATHY BALBACH TO REPORT FOR TEEN CO-ED MAGAZINE Miss Kathy Balbach has been named Co-ed Correspondent for the 1964-1965 school year, according to an announcement by Miss Margaret Hauser. editor of Co-ed Magazine. Kathy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Balbach and is in the 8th grade at Sparta Junior High School. Her appointment was made by Mrs. John Braford, home econo- mics teacher at Sparta Junior High School. Selected for her qualities oflead- ership, Kathy will serve as junior advisor to the editors of Co-ed, national magazine for teen-age girls. She will keep them informed of activities at Sparta Junior High School. More than 4,000 Co-ed Correspondents throughout the United States and Canada report regularly.
