Wow!! Can you believe it, it’s already 2020? I still remember like yesterday, the panic that proceeded Y2K, and would it be the end of the world as we had come to know it, staring into the face of a new millennium. Now we sit here at the beginning of a new decade, and many of us are taking the opportunity to revision for our lives and ministries, plan new programs and campaigns, and incorporating the idea of having 20-20 vision. Perfect human sight, for many of us an improvement we would appreciate. Spiritually though is that enough? Is seeing the world with perfect human sight what we really want? I would submit that what we truly need is to be able to see this world thru through the eyes of Christ. When I look at my family how do I see them? Do I see my children, my siblings, my grandchildren considering their eternal destination, or only how they are dressed, what music they are listening to, or how they wear their hair? Do I look at my neighbors and co- workers and consider what they may be struggling with: addictions, broken relationships, loneliness, or do I only see how rude they are, the kind of car they drive, or how they speak? Lord, as we begin a new year and a new decade, may I see the people I encounter thru your eyes? Will you help me look deeper than what I see on the surface? And then Father as you allow me to see them as you do, open doors that I may, as your ambassador, share on your behalf as you would to encourage those you created and love. Thank the Lord for new beginnings! May we as Randolph Baptist and children of the living God make the most of ours in 2020. Jeff Joyce ~ Associational Mission Strategist

A message from the Credentials Committee…. The Credentials Committee met recently to discuss the role of said committee and to establish a strategic plan moving forward. As part of that meeting, it was decided that a reminder of the expectations of “cooperating churches” of the Randolph Baptist Association would be beneficial. These expectations are stated as follows in the RBA Constitution:

ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. The Association shall be comprised of coop-erating churches within the area of the Association. A cooperating church shall be defined as one which annual-ly:

1. Contributes to the financial programs of the association. (SBC recommends at least 3% of un-designated gifts.)

2. Returns the annual report to the association.

3. Elect members who attend at least one of the quarterly meetings.

The Credentials Committee requests that pastors and leadership of all churches of the RBA review these expec-tations and consider what changes, if any, your church may need to consider. Thank you for your consideration and feel free to contact Mr. Jerry Atwood, Credentials Committee Chairman, should you have any questions.
