REAL NEW ZEALAND FESTIVAL EVENTS HIGHLIGHTS May 2011 Rugby World Cup 2011 (RWC 2011) is a chance to see some magnificent Rugby. So for the six weeks of Rugby World Cup 2011, from 9 September to 24 October, we’re holding the REAL New Zealand Festival. Taki Rua’s Strange Resting Places, is intimate theatre at its very best – combining voice, music and movement that deftly moves from moments of laugh-out-loud humour to poignant tragedy. Based on the relationship between an Italian and a Māori soldier during World War Two, Strange Resting Places is a celebration of the Māori Battalion and a commemoration of all those who died in the war and it features the three universals that Māori shared with the Italians: whānau, food and song.
