Students will stay in a hotel in central Amsterdam, less than a mile from the Museum Quarter and steps from tram lines that go throughout the city. Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and one of the most popular traveler destinations in Europe, with over 5 million international visitors every year. Amsterdam is the cultural and commercial center of the Netherlands and program travelers will be able to experience its famous canals, museums, and historic sites.

The Netherlands’ large international population has led to several innovative approaches to schooling for immigrant children and teens. We will be examining Dutch approaches to newcomer education and visiting schools, educators, and higher education students and faculty in Amsterdam, Zwolle, and Utrecht, three of the Netherlands most populous and memorable cities. In addition to our educational focus, the program will also highlight the historic and cultural significance of the Netherlands.
