DESTINATION: INAUGURATION American Government PBL Entry Packet for Interest Groups Driving Question: What can you do to be part of the process of electing the president of the United States? Explanation: Elections are essential to our representative democracy. Students will understand how people who are elected into powerful position in our society get to those positions. The goal of interest groups is to get candidates and the public to be thinking about their topics in manor of their liking. Try your best to influence people to join your cause. Sometimes you can only get people to agree with you to a certain degree. East Tech Tenets: Content Knowledge: How does the President get elected? How can you shape an election? Technology: Research, campaign options Written Communication: Task List, position papers, evaluations, reports, portfolio proposals Problem Solving: You have to figure out how to influence this election.
