• The Nutri-Grain Surf Ironman and Ironwoman Series• Australian Surf Life Saving Championships• NSW Surf Life Saving Championships• Sydney Northern Beaches Branch Championships• The Coolangatta Gold

» Build a platform for our competitors to achieve this from a Sydney based Surf Life Saving Club.

Together we can create history in this sport

Our strategyHow can we match the Queensland Clubs?

What Queensland clubs do What we do Achieved

Professionally driven, intensive training programs

Matched and improved

We have studied what they do and improved on it

Coaching/Mentoring from the best in the sport

Matched and improved

We have worked hard to obtain the involvement of an unprecedented mentoring team

Warm climate and warm water all year round

Suck it up and get on with it

We have proven you can train through the Sydney winter

Funding from the club’s bistros, bars and poker machines

Impossible to match due to NSW licensing laws

Then be a part of our team… » we need financial team members » personal and corporate opportunities available » contact Simon Euers +61414295715

If you feel passionate about… » developing local talent » creating a level playing field » correcting inequitable circumstances » supporting the underdog

Our creedIf we provide the environment and we do the work, we will get the results.

» We know we have the program, we know we have the talent » We are determinded NOT to fail due to a financial imbalance

“This sport is all about discipline, preparation and execution. The work ethic and determination I have seen in this squad is the reason they are producing great results."

“I love seeing their courage and willingness to give themselves wholly to their challenge… they exude such clear confidence!”

“My first ever club was Newport. If I had this team when I was growing up; I’m pretty sure I would still be racing for Newport.”

“They’re a dedicated and hard-working bunch of competitors, but they’ve never forgotten that it has to stay fun.”

Our commitment

This sport is not a ‘money’ sport. It has no lucrative career prospects. It is pursued by athletes who enjoy the prospects of knowing that the discipline, the ethic, the determination required will ultimately pay off in the people they become.

Our training The training our athletes undertake is unsurpassed by any other amateur sport and arguably most professional sports. The commitment to perform at this level is gruelling, unrecognised and not comprehended by most.

13 sessions per week including: » 5 x swim squads, 6-7 km per session » 6 x water craft (board/surf ski/iron man), 2 hours per session » 2 x run sprint sessions

This commitment is even more impressive when recognising that a large percentage of our squad have external pressures of work, university and school (including the HSC).

Our challenge Our athletes have little time available to hold part time jobs (however, some still manage to do so). Many of the families involved support more than one athlete.

Individual cost involved:Swimming squad fees: $2000 - $3000Racing Board: $2000 - $3000Racing Ski: $3000 - $4000Paddle: $600 - $700Extras: Flights/transport cost, accommodation, goggles, swim suits, remedial treatments, supplements.

Team costs involved:Coaching, logistics, gear trailers, sun tents, competition entry fees, ice baths, rehydration and recovery costs.

We’ve identified these significant costs are the main reason NSW competitors are attracted to Queensland clubs.

To support, sustain and grow the academy we will need help.
