News and Comments The 12th Meeting of Chugoku-Shikoku Study Group on Infantile Spasms and Allied Disorders was held under presidency of Prof. S. Ohtahara, Okayama University, at the Miyoshino Hall, Okayama, March 27, 1982. The scientific program was as follows: 1. A clinico-electroencephalographic study on 2 cases of Aicardi syndrome. A peculiar type of epileptic status in in- tractable epilepsy: A polygraphic study. Sugai S, Ohtsuka Y, Ohtahara S (Dept of Child Neurology, Okayama University, Okayama) Dr. S . Shirataki, Dept of Neuropsychiatry , Kobe University, gave the special lecture on the concept of developmental neurology and stress- ed the importance of developmental view- points in child neurology. Personnels: Dr Hideo Sugita (formerly an associate profes- sor at the Department of Neurology, Insti tu te of Brain Research, University of Tokyo) moved to the National Center for Nervous, Mental and Muscular Disorders, Kodaira, Tokyo, on April 1, 1982, to become the head of the First De- partment for Disease Research there. Dr Seiji Takita advanced his rank from an as- sociate professor to a professor at the Depart- ment of Pediatrics, School of Medicine , Showa University, Tokyo, on April, 1982. Dr Goro Takada (formerly an assistant profes- sor of pediatrics at Tohoku University School of Medicine, Sendai) was appointed as the as- sociate professor at the Department of Pedi- atrics, School of Medicine, Akita University, Akita, on April, 1982. Ms Yoko Suzuki, PhD, was appointed as the associate professor at the Department of Ped- agogy, Faculty of Literature, The Waseda University, Tokyo, on March, 1982. Dr Tsugutoshi Aoki advanced his rank from an associate professor to the professor and the head at the Department of Pediatrics, Ohashi Hospital, School of Medicine, Toho University, Tokyo, on April, 1982.
