“We simply seek to achievea good planning outcomewhich gives Norwood Foot-ball Club a home while pro-tecting residential propertiesfrom late-night noise andanti-social behaviour,” MrFairlie-Jones said
He last week said donationsto the “Norwood Oval appeal”would go towards hiring law-yers and “expert witnesses” –including planning and trafficexperts – to argue his case incourt.
He launched the ERD Courtappeal after the state’s Devel-opment Assessment Commis-sion (DAC) approved theplans for The Parade groundin December.
The residents met lawyersfor Norwood, Payneham & StPeters Council, which ownsthe oval, for court-ordered

mediation in January, but fail-ed to reach a compromise.
The appeal is the latest set-back to threaten the redevel-opment, which also includesrefurbishing change rooms, administration offices and toi-lets in the Sir Edwin T SmithStand.
Work on the upgrade wasmeant to start almost 12months ago but was delayedafter Glynde resident PhilipGroves lodged a complaint
with the council about its $2million contribution to theproject.
In January, Norwood Foot-ball Club president Paul DiIulio told the Eastern CourierMessenger he was disap-pointed by the appeal, but re-mained confident it would notderail plans to deliver Redlegsfans a “spiritual home” in timefor the start of 2018 SANFLseason.
Mr Di Iulio and NP&SPMayor Robert Bria declined tocomment on the appeal.
However, Mr Di Iulio reaf-firmed the importance of thedevelopment.
“I think that there are a lotof benefits in having an inclus-ive facility for the club and thecommunity,” he said.
The ERD Court was sched-uled to set a date for the hear-ing when the parties met for apreliminary hearing on Tues-day, after the Eastern CourierMessenger’s deadline.
