Inverness presents to

you; ICT. Pupils at In-

have gone technology

crazy when using

Chromebooks, comput-

more. As we have re-

cently received the de-

light of having Chrome-

school. All P1 to P7 pu-

the Chromebooks. On

the Chromebooks we do

things such as: math

We use Chromebooks

apps we use TTRock-

stars. Our school has

recently put together a

team of digital leaders.

The digital leaders notify

the school about new

apps and software and

teach us how to be safe

on and of the internet.

The digital leaders lead-

er, Miss Carson, said

that she uses software

such as clicker 7, Socra-

tive, Times Table Rock-

stars, Kahoot, Seesaw

and Google apps, such

as Docs, slides, sites,

keep, classroom and

sheets. “Remember to

always stick to the gran-

ny rule to keep us safe

on the internet.” she told

us. We use child locks

and security locks to

stay safe.

Other Technology uses in school In our school we don't just use Chromebooks we also use iPads and computers. Sometimes we play games and re-

search for homework and more. Other times we make slideshows and docs. We can also go onto our google ac-count at home on a computer, tablet or phone. TTROCKSTAR

We use TTRockstars to improve our

times tables knowledge. It is fun and

you get to practise your ICT skills as

well.

ing but Morgan also did a couple of

drawings. Inshes School aims are

made to ensure that Inshes Primary

School have positive goals, positive

teachers and positive pupils.

It is really important to have school

aims because if we did not, then bully-

ing could take place and the adults

might not take any action if a child

walks up to them. The Aims also help

bullies to become more friendly and

nicer. Inshes School aims are also im-

portant because if there was no aims

you might do anything, and not always

the good things. Inshes School aims

has been great to have at Inshes.

By Aleksander Bisikierski and Aaron Hillan

Inshes News has been discovering how

Inshes Aims became a reality.

Inshes Aims are a set of values and

morals that make up what Inshes Pri-

mary School stand for. Some of the

Aims are;

“We are challenged”, “We are resili-

ent”, “We make learning fun” and “We

are treated equally”

We wanted to figure out how these

aims came about and therefore inter-

viewed different pupils who helped cre-

ate these.

“It was ok and it was fun looking at the

final result.” Said Jotham from P7B.

“We struggled with a few things.”

It took them about a 2 weeks and 2

days. One of the biggest problems

were the colour choice, most of the

P7s would like a different colour.

Jotham (P7B) was creator, Morgan

(P7B) was the colour manager, Eilidh

(P7B) and Lewis (P7B) helped pull it

together. Jotham did most of the draw-

These are some of the trips that Inshes

Pupils have been on over the year.

All classes go to Farr woods. At Farr woods Jason, from P2, was den building.

He enjoyed the activities.

P7B went on a trip twice to university of

Highlands and Islands placed in Inverness.

They visited the STEM centre and learned about space and lighting. Even though it

was a long walk Jotham from P7B enjoyed

it.

Both P5 classes went to the mosque. They

listened to some prayers and at the end

they were able to bring a Koran back.

There was lots of food.

As some of you might know;

drama club is putting on a mu-

sical, so we interviewed a few

pupils to get their opinion.

We asked Catlin in P6A What is

your favourite thing about dra-

ma club?

Her answer was “Having fun

and meeting new people!”, we

also asked her what she en-

joyed about being in drama

club. “I love being in drama club

because there is so much fun

traveling around it's like a chain

of laughter!” she said.

We interviewed Lily P7B as

well. We asked her what her

opinion of drama club was.

“I think that drama club is a

great activity to have and that

it seems like a really fun thing

to do.” Lily said. We asked her if

she wanted to be in drama club

and she said that she thought

she would like to be in drama

club because it seems really

fun and exciting club to be in.

Drama club was started when

Mr Laurie had the idea of it. He

asked Mrs Simpson to help him.

We interviewed her about it and

she said “Mr Laurie asked me to

join him on the drama club jour-

ney and I was delighted to say

YES!

Summer’s mum, Sharon, was

interviewed too. We asked her

how much she enjoyed Cinder-ella and the 8 stories? Her an-

swer was “I thought Miss Simp-

son and Mr Laurie and the kids

did really well.” We also asked

her; to rate the performance on

a scale of 1 to 10?

“10 out of 10.” she replied

Musicals are a bit like plays but

have songs in them. For exam-

ple pantomimes are usually mu-

sicals. The drama club musical

features plenty of songs includ-

ing; We’re in a world of fantasy

to the tune of The Bare Neces-

sities from the jungle book.

Although we can’t tell you what

it is about. We can assure you

that it is a fantastic plot and we

are sure you will enjoy it!!!!!!!

Everyone in drama club has got

a part and is working hard to

make it the best musical ever.

We also interviewed Mr Laurie.

We asked him what what the

future of Inshes Drama Club

would be and he said: “After the

summer holidays auditions

start all over again and we will

hopefully continue to have a

magnificent Drama Club here at

Inshes.”

Mr Laurie studied to become a

drama teacher as well as a

normal teacher. He said he

loves drama.

Drama club, What’s all the Drama about?

This is Lily Fraser (P7B) who we

interviewed.

Also remember to turn off the tap, the

microwave and any electronics you have

in your house. Remember to do recycling so you can use

it again and again instead of making peo-ple cut down trees to make more.

We asked Sarah from P4A about the Eco group.

These were the questions and answers we

got:

Are you sad because you have to pick up lots of trash?

“Disappointed because there is lots of

litter”

By Ava Kilgour and Hannah Tod

Inshes eco flag is a tree with to book and a

person in the middle holding up his/her hands. There is a photo of it on the other

side.

To gain a Eco flag you have to be a green

school. This means that the eco group will do litter picking and keep our environment

clean. The rest of the school also have to do that. To be eco friendly, here are some

suggestions: turn off electronics such as

the tv, the oven, your phone and the lights

What day do you do the litter pick?

“It depends on what day miss Sunde

thinks” What is the eco symbol?

“A tree with two books and a person” How much litter do you pick up in a day?

“About 150 pieces I think”

Eco Flag

clearly shows this.

craft (2009) and Fortnite

(2017). We are going to focus on

a few of these games.

This is the history of Mario. As

you can see Mario has changed

quite a bit, from being a 2D

character to a 3D character. In

1985 pixels were visible to the

naked eye, where in 2007 you

can’t see the pixels. Over the

years technology has improved

and the animations have be-

come better. The picture below

simple tennis game. It was in-

liam Higinbotham. It is very dif-

ferent from today’s games.

Some of the most popular video

Welcome To Always Outdoors

We went around the school asking pupils

about outdoor learning, Here is what they

said!

Hallie In P1A Said

“I like running around and playing with my

friends”

“I can’t go on most things because they

are to tricky”

“I think we should add some slides and

some more skipping ropes”

“ I don’t think it has improved in a while

but I hope that it will!”

Zara In P2B Said

“The adventure playground is great be-

cause it is fun”

“ I don’t like the football pitch”

“I want to add a slide”

“I don’t like the litter that everyone drops

everywhere”

P3A Millie Said

“It's a nice and big playground so everyone

can play in it and we all have space to play

in it “

“Sometimes we fight over things like skip-

ping ropes and hula hoops “

“I think the playground is perfect the way

it is “

“I think the playgorund is getting better

slowly”

Roseanna In P4B Said

“I like how our playground it is really large

and there is a lot of fun and creative things

to do “

“I would like a seesaw or a slide.”

Layla In P6B Said

in the grass”

and we need a little equipment to make the

playground a bit more fun and enjoyable.”

and bouncy castles in the playground!”

and there is so much litter underneath the

benches.”

“I would like to add some swings or a

slide.”

Mr Marshall Says

“The best thing about our playground is

the pupils in it, exploring and being so cre-

ative!”

“I would let the pupils build dens and tree-

houses and get bigger trees and add some

more to the adventure playground.”

Our playground

Here is some of the things we have in our

playground that we like to use

The Adventure Playground

The adventure playground is really fun for

all the pupils in Inshes. From the wobbly

bridge to the climbing ropes!

It has been here for a while now but it is

still fun for all of us. It is a really good

obstacle course!

Outdoor Classroom

It’s a really fun place that we like to use in

our outdoor learning Fridays! It is really

enjoyable for all our classes. It’s a brilliant

idea to have it because you can do so much

and have a lots of fun. We think it’s amaz-

ing!

The Rolling Logs And The Boat

These are quite new to our playground. The

boat is wooden and we always think of

creative things to do there! We all think it’s

a great addition to our playground. Then

we have the logs. We use the logs for a lot

of things; like stepping stones in a obstacle

course or we can make a trail to each

other. So both of these we love and can

use for so many things.

Outdoor Learning Fridays

Every Friday each class goes outside to go

learn something. It is everything from

sketching in the outdoor classroom to

playing different games! We always find

out something new to do, we are always

super creative when we do outdoor learn-

ing. Here are some examples of what we

enjoy doing. Art, games, treasure hunts

and much more! We always do something

exciting in outdoor learning.

Always Outdoors!
