News in brief ... • Healthcare decision-makers should be included on AHCPR* grant review committees, according to a draft report of the agency's Center for Outcomes and Effectiveness Research. Including managed-care organisation managers, medical directors and hospital administrators on AHCPR grant review committees may help close the 'very wide gap that exists between the agency and these individuals who make influential decisions about the healthcare system', indicates the report.
