W hen you talked about Demolition Derbies in years past at Five Flags Speedway, it was just common nature to think of names such as Neilsen or Merritt. Not so much lately as a new name comes to mind and it’s Ronnie “King of Krunch” Smith. You all remember him from his Modified and Late Model years here at the speedway, but after retiring a few years ago Smith decided to try his hand at the Demo Derby just for fun. F un is just what he’s had too; as he has taken home the trophy and $2,000.00 first place money in the last two Demos’. Might I add he has only participated in two and he is batting a thousand? Check this out..he did it in the same car. Never can I remem- ber anyone doing that. The cars normally go to the crusher afterwards. Welcome to our out of town drivers tonight . S o my question is; can the owner of Certi- fied Plumbing make it 3 in a row and live up to his new nickname? Who knows what will happen, but I bet all the other drivers will be gunning for him. O f course we will have to wait until the end of the night to find out if number three is in order for Smith because we will have a lot of racing taking place beforehand. Modifieds, Sportsmen, and Bomber’s will be in action to get our fans warmed up. Brandon Howell holds a slim 10 point lead over Donnie Hamrac in the Modi- fieds. Steve Buttrick will try to continue his dominance in the Sportsmen class and Michael Nelson will work to protect his points lead in the Bombers. W e begin the night (right after the prrayer) with the annual “Faster Pastor” race, so for just $5.00 you should feel that you really got your money’s worth when you leave the track tonight. Mix all that in with what has been

some of the best local racing in years, and, we’re off to a great start.

Tonight, the Allen Turner Pro Late

Models will again dazzle us with a pair of features. Young Garrett Jones and Fairhope’s Bryce Dulabhan, along with Pensacola’s Jeremy Pate, are raging a battle for the points lead with a mere 6 points between them. The new format for the series has met great success.

The Mods, Sports-man, and Bomb-

ers are also set to do battle tonight. Speak-ing of Sportsman, let us remind you, new division sponsor Beef O’ Brady’s, on Nine Mile Rd. will stay open late for your visit after tonight’s races. We also thank Bomber Division sponsor Cheryl Nelson of Butler’s U Pull-It,
