News Release Email Pitch
To: [email protected]: Girl Scouts 24 Hour Relay – News Release
Hello Bob,
Good afternoon! My name is Chelsea Hall. I am a PR student at Fresno State, working with the Girl Scouts of Central California South this semester. I am contacting you today to see if you would be interested in writing a story about our upcoming 24-Hour “Relay to Help the World” event. This event is one of our largest fundraising events for each Girl Scout troop to collect donations for an assortment of charities.
This event will take place at Woodward Park in Fresno, beginning Friday May 20, at 9 a.m. and wrapping up Saturday May 21, at 9 a.m. The event is a 24-hour relay where troops form teams and walk to raise awareness and donations for the different charities that they have selected. All proceeds collected from the event will be given in large fancy checks to representatives of the charities from each troop at the end of the relay.
If you would like to do a story about at the relay, please let me know and I can set up interviews with any troop leaders and council members you would like. Of course, the Girl Scouts themselves will be at the event as well and available for any photo opportunity you wish! These opportunities will include girls walking in the relay, opening and closing ceremonies, crafts, contests, etc.
