Allhamdullilah the A Levels program for girls has kicked off at the Intellect School. The 1st batch started classes on the 3rd of September’2018 for the Academic year 2018-19.

Pakistani economic advisors discussed banning imports of luxury cars, smartphones and cheese in a wide-ranging strategy session on how to avoid seeking a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a senior government advisor said.

While no decisions were made, the floating of radical measures to tackle Pakistan’s ballooning current account deficit by the newly formed Economic Adv i so ry Council (EAC) underscores the new government’s determination to avoid another IMF bailout.

The EAC held its first session last week, chaired by Finance Minister Asad Umar, who took office last month.

A lull in Pakistani exports and a relative spike in imports has led to a shortage of dollars in the

economy, putting pressure on the local currency and dwindling foreign currency reserves.

That has prompted most financial analysts to predict Pakistan will turn to the IMF for its 15th bailout since the early 1980s. But new Prime Minister Imran Khan has criticized a culture of dependency and his party’s officials have expressed concerns that the reforms and austerity the IMF might demand would strangle promised government spending.

Khan said the more radical steps discussed were a year-long ban on imports

for cheese, cars, cell phones and fruit that could “save some $4-5 billion”. A push on exports could generate up to $2 billion in extra inflows, he added.

“You see how much cheese is coming in this country from abroad,” Khan said. “Market is full of imported cheese. Does this country, which doesn’t have dollars, deserve this, that it is importing cheese?”

A member of the Saudi royal family has reported the theft of hundreds of thousands of euros’ worth of jewellery from her hotel room at the Ritz hotel in Paris, police sources said Monday.

The jewels, worth an

estimated 800,000 euros were not in a safe when they were taken and there was no sign of forced entry, the source said, confirming a report on France Info radio.

France Info said the victim was a Saudi princess staying in one of the

hotel’s suites.

An investigation has been opened by France’s anti-organised crime brigade, a legal source said.

In January, an armed gang swiped an estimated four million euros’ worth of jewels from shops inside the Ritz after bursting into the hotel and using hatchets to smash display cases.

All of the loot, some of which the robbers dropped while trying to make their escape, was recovered.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged the international community to prevent a Syrian government offensive in Syria’s Idlib, as the United Nations says it fears the century’s “worst humanitarian catastrophe” there.

In an article in the Wall Street Journal Erdogan echoed the UN’s concerns about a potent ia l humanitarian crisis, adding that an attack on the last rebel-held province would affect Turkey, Europe and beyond.

“Not only innocent Syrians, but the entire world stands to pay the price [otherwise],” he said.

Erdogan, who met with his Russian and Iranian counterparts at a summit in Tehran last week, also said Russia and Iran had a responsibility to stop a potential humanitarian disaster in Idlib.

areas have been worn down by a succession of government victories in recent months.

The UN’s warning on the issue came from the international organisation’s humanitarian coordination agency (OCHA).

“We’re deeply concerned about th i s recent escalation of violence, which has resulted in the displacement of over 30,000 in the area. That’s something we’re monitoring very closely,” OCHA spokesman David Swanson told reporters.

The UN has said as many as 800,000 people could be displaced by a regime assault on Idlib and

Just like Dhul-Qa’dah, Dhul-Hijjah and Rajab, the month of Muharram is one of the four sacred months out of the twelve Islamic months.

1. These four months have been sacred since the creation of the universe – as told by Allah (SWT) in the Qur’an in Surah Taubah.

2. After Ramadan, fasting in the month of Muharram is most rewardable.

Ego

If you ask every happily married couple that’s successfully made it past the first five years, they’ll tell you there’s no

bigger enemy to marital happiness than: ego.

Ego is the defense mechanism of the lower self, and ego in marriage sounds like:

“This is who I am and you better get used to it”

“I wouldn’t have said/done that if you didn’t say/do what you did”

“It’s all because of you”

“Does it look like I care anyway?”

And ego sounds very, very familiar.

This is because the lower self is a covert enemy lurking within each and every one of us.

Why ego is the biggest threat to a marriage is because it is an enemy from within. Ego is like a deceptive double agent that distorts reality and makes us deny and justify the wrongs that our lower selves commit towards our spouses, convincing us that we are right; while we are oppressing our own selves and our spouses and actually walking a path of humiliating self-destruction.

There’s no one who mirrors our souls to us more accurately than our spouse, because no other human being gets to see us as intimately and habitually as they do. As a natural consequence, spouses stand the highest chance of facing our ego: the defensive wrath of our lower selves. But allowing your lower self to prevail in your marriage instead of seeing your marriage as a means to purify yourself is your own (disastrous) choice.

Our spouses actually personify the mercy of Allah (SWT) when they mirror our flaws to us so we can rise above our lower selves. They make us discern our innermost weaknesses that we could not have seen for ourselves, and Allah (SWT) has blessed us with them for our own spiritual purification and salvation.

The next time your spouse is desperately trying to get something about yourself across to you:

1. Just listen. Listen carefully and objectively, especially if they have been repeating it for a very long time.

2. Control the urge to defend yourself: look for the truth in your spouse’s words first.

3. Ask yourself: “Has anyone pointed this out about me before?” The answer could very likely be a yes, and if it is, then you’re definitely looking at a flaw that Allah (SWT) wants you to work on and get rid of.

4. Realize how merciful Allah (SWT) is being to you through your spouse. Thank Allah (SWT) and your spouse sincerely for caring so much about your success in the hereafter and making you a better person.

Evil Eye

The Prophet (SAW) said:

“The evil eye is real.” [Ibn Majah]

I am always in awe of the power of this extremely concise hadith, because it delivers three vital messages about the evil eye in one 5-word sentence:

•the harm of the evil eye is very, very real (in case you were even thinking otherwise)

•do not put yourself in its way; and

•take measures to protect yourself from it

If you agree with point one, the second and third points just follow naturally. Muslim couples today are actual ly serving their marriages on exquisitely decorated social media platters for the evil eye to devour: not just the ceremony, but every single verbal and non-verbal marital exchange, meal, meeting, moment, mood and micro-second!

Happy Muslim couples do share their marital happiness, but sensibly. Before sharing anything about your marital life with the public, ask yourself:

•Is it necessary to share it with all the people I’m about to disclose it to?

•Will it make any of them long to be in my position?

•Is it better off being private?

Each food package comprised of lentils, rice, flour, sugar, spices, ghee and biscuits for children. Each package was enough to last a month easily.
