What a fantastic end to
Term 2, with some
amazing events being run
to showcase the dance
and athletic ability of
Caralee kids!! All term,
our Year 6 students,
supported by children
from other year groups,
have competed in
football, soccer and
netball. All teams have
had success over the
course of the term and
our Fever Cup netball
team will be competing
for the cup this Friday
against Riverton PS who
are also undefeated for
the term. We wish all
out teams the best of
luck. The
dance skill on display at
the Caralee Dance
Concert were again
fantastic. Ms Longley and
Taylah worked hard all
term to provide fantastic
lessons based on The Arts
(Dance) WA Curriculum.
Our kids embraced the
lessons and put on a
fantastic show.
Teachers and Education
Assistants have been
working hard across all
areas of the curriculum
this semester and this is
reflected in the
wonderful progress I
have read about in all
school reports going
home this week. It is
important for parents to
note that the concept of a
‘C’ grade or ‘Satisfactory’
has evolved since we
went to school. A ‘C’ or
‘Satisfactory’ grade
equates to your child
knowing and
demonstrating ALL that is
required and expected
for a child of that year
level in terms of the
material covered. Parents
and children receiving
these grades should be
pleased with this
achievement. Equally as
important are the marks
given for ‘effort’ in each
subject areas assessed
around trying your best. I
look for which children
are consistently working
hard in these areas.
As we head into the
second half of the year,
there are some exciting
projects that will
commence around the
school. Part of Peter
Tinley’s election
commitment was to
provide a Nature Play
space for our Early
Childhood area, given our
senior children enjoy daily
the Nature Play provided
by the P&C.
Our P&C continue to
support our school with

Hi Parents and Caregivers
Here's a great article with some really useful insight into some effective ways we can help our kids.
Parenting can be a very challenging task at times, and some information from others, who have gone before us, can be a great support. Happy reading!

On Friday the 23rd June
the Year 1 to 6 Caralee and Pre
-Primary to Year 3 FLDC
students came together to put
on a whole school Dance
Concert. Each class performed
the dance that they have been
working on this term and did so
with such extraordinary
confidence and enthusiasm.
Well done to all performers in
Caralee & FLDC for putting on
such a fantastic show, and thank
you to Taylah Reynolds for
preparing the children for this
event - they've enjoyed each
and every lesson with you!
Congratulations!

Our panel of judges have
completed the difficult task of
choosing five artworks for each
page of the storybook - giving us
the 100 finalists in our 2017 Art

In Music, the lower school

their term by making and
performing a 'rhythm pizza' to
revise the beat value of each
rhythm.
The upper school students
have been working in groups
to create a bunch
of rocking ukulele bands. They
focused on staying in time with
