FROM THE PRINCIPAL TEAM
WELCOME BACK TO TERM 4
We look forward to another busy and exciting term of learning at BMPS.
Please keep your eye on the upcoming events.
WALK TO SCHOOL MONTH
October is Walk to School Month and the more we walk to school the fitter we will feel
and the environment will benefit too.
VicHealth’s Walk to School month encourages primary school children to walk, ride or
scoot to and from school throughout October, to help them get the 60 minutes of physical
activity they need each day.
Mrs McWhinney has delivered calendars and resources to classrooms to record and
collate the number of students walking to school.
Another benefit of Walking to School in October is that we can win some great prizes for
our school if we all get involved.
Our school organised Walk to School Days will be
• Friday 21st
October
• Friday 29th
October
We will have 2 Walking School Bus’s leaving at 8am from:
• The front of the Hospital in Grant Street – near main gate
OR
• The Vet in Gisborne Road
Any Parents interested to walk with us will be most welcome.
Please let the office know.
We’d love walking school buses to become a regular option for our students to get to
school.
GRADE 6 CANBERRA EXPERIENCE
Our 2016 Year 6 Production that was written, produced and directed by Ms Thompson
and Mrs Hurst in collaboration with our Year 6 staff and students set the scene for this
week’s Canberra experience.
We’ve heard nothing but positive reports throughout the week regarding the manner in
which our students have conducted themselves.
Congratulations to our students and thankyou to our staff and parent helpers.
We look forward to finding out more at assembly on Monday morning.
At Government House with the Governor General - Peter Cosgrove
GARDEN GROUP - VOLUNTEERS
Spring has sprung and so have the weeds!
It would be great if we have some interested members of our school community who
would like to spend some time weeding, tidying, sweeping etc to support us to maintain
our beautiful grounds.
We’ll get together straight after assembly this coming Monday morning, or if that doesn’t
work for you just let the office know and we’ll be in touch.
Thank you to the Simson Family for making a start in the holidays.
2017 PREP TRANSITION
Our Transition Program for 2017 Prep students begins this coming Wednesday 12th

Activities will conclude at 10.30 and parents and carers are welcome to come in to the
staff room for a cuppa and to meet other parents and carers during this time.
Year 4 Area Makeover

happen.

Breakfast Club will start again next Monday and Wednesday 8am to 8.40am
