Closed, delayed, canceled – these are the words we’ve all heard too many times this summer. It’s true COVID-19 changed our plans. The good news is, you can emerge from this time with new discoveries about yourself and with new passions in life. Try these:

Help someone. It’s a great feeling to be of service. You could send encouraging cards to residents in assisted-living communities, clean up around your neighborhood, or reach out to someone you know is struggling.

Move more. Physical activity makes you happier. You know what to do … grab your bike, ball and glove, or just your tennis shoes and get outside to enjoy the fresh air and sun.

Create more. Making art is healing and fun. Try photography, writing a song, or coloring with your younger siblings.

Be mindful. Journal your feelings, meditate, pray, or talk it out. It’s a good idea to regularly check in with yourself.

Lean in. Difficult times don’t last forever. We’ll get through this together.
