Suggestions BoxSometimes we come up with ideas and we hear ideas and suggestions from
community members. A lot of these times because of time and work
pressure these are lost in space. In order to best utilise these idea we
have a suggestion box in reception for all to use. Its under the clock and
also serves as the donations box.
Donations are not always monetary (although they are always welcome)
Donations are ideas which can be tangible and which we can work on for the
community. SO.if you think you have a good idea which we can use
here then please feel free to put it in writing and pop it into the box in
reception and we can have a look at it and if its realistic work on it.
Remember its your box so please use it
Sex Lies and True Love in Modern Scotland.
We have got a donation of Series 1 from a community member. Perhaps if a
group wants to come in to watch this controversial drama series then let me
know in LINC and we can have a film night for people. At the moment
Monday night is a good bet so if youre interested then get on the phone and
well see if we can organise something.

In celebration of and conjunction with Cork Pride 2011, Cork Feminista is
hosting an art exhibition titled 'Queer As Political'. Feminist and queertheories and politics have always overlapped, intermingled and struggled
with each other. We want to take this opportunity to reflect on Pride'sinspirational history as a political and cultural struggle and the ongoing
fight for access to rights, resources and equality that feminists and LGBTcommunities share.

We're calling for submissions from artists interested in exploring the politicsof queer identities. Identifying as 'queer' is a transgressive act that
challenges the dominant structures and stereotypes. We're looking for workthat explores ways that queer identities are inherently and overtly political. The exhibition will take place as a part of Cork Pride 2011 (29th May 6th
June) at The Other Place, North Main Street, Cork. Expressions of interestwith details of the work, including format and/or dimensions, can be emailedto: [email protected] by 6th May 2011. Deadline for completed work
27th May 2011.
